The gunman in Friday's deadly mass shooting in Texas shot at a police officer days earlier, authorities confirmed to Newsweek on Friday.
The suspect, Victor Mata Villarreal, 45, of Odessa, had been sought by police for attempted capital murder of a peace officer after firing multiple shots at a Midland police officer during a traffic stop late Wednesday.

This happened in the extreme South West corner of Midland, south of the tracks and almost into Odessa. Very industrial and our “sketchy” part of town, as things go. In fact, it’s just off the street “Industrial”.
I’m assuming gang/drugs related. As in Banditos, not hip hop losers. Actual gang. Deal meth to oilfield.

Most people don't understand how federal government racial demographics work.
'White' and 'Black' are considered a race, but Hispanic is an ethnicity. Thus someone can be White/Hispanic, or Black/Hispanic.
The U.S. Census Bureau defines a "White" person as having origins in any of the original peoples of Europe, the Middle East, or North Africa
This means an Egyptian, a Morrocan, a Syrian, and a German are all considered White in most government stats.
Midland was and is W bush home town

That's exactly what he's listed as in the US Marshals Wanted poster in the article.
That whole collection is now part of the Petroleum Museum.
They take them out periodically and run them down the service road.
