Iran lashed out at its neighbors Saturday after U.S. forces downed missiles Iran launched at targets in the Strait of Hormuz.
“U.S. forces intercepted multiple Iranian ballistic missiles and drones launched by Iran toward the Strait of Hormuz and Gulf neighbors,” U.S. Central Command posted on X.
“Iran fired seven ballistic missiles toward Kuwait and Bahrain hours after U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) shot down four Iranian one-way attack drones that were launched toward the Strait of Hormuz,” CENTCOM said.
“The attack drones posed an immediate threat to regional maritime traffic. U.S. forces subsequently struck Iranian coastal surveillance radar sites in Goruk and on Qeshm Island to defend against further maritime attacks.”
The post said Iran’s missile attacks achieved nothing.
“Initial assessments indicate six of the missiles launched by Iran were intercepted and a seventh did not reach its intended target. There are currently no reports of harm to U.S. personnel, and Iranian claims of damaging U.S. 5th fleet headquarters in Bahrain are false,” the post said.
Friday’s fighting came as President Donald Trump told an audience at an event in Wisconsin he could not linger because he had to “straighten out a little unfinished business in Iran,” according to the New York Post.

Take it one step more, Mr. President. Stay at the White House tomorrow. Do not go to the Knicks-Spurs game.
When do we get to send ballistic missiles and drones into Iran? If we have been, why did we stop? It was such a big deal that we had air superiority, are we exploiting it? What is with all the defense and apparently no offense? They aren’t negotiating, only stalling and lying.
I guessing the belief was Trump could make Iran surrender due to economic pressures. But I suspect the IRGC and whatever leadership they have is doing just fine (in hiding). Gotta figure China and Russian are finding ways to keep them propped up.
“What we’re trying to achieve in the negotiations is pretty simple; We want our maximalist demands that we would achieve if we were using military force. That is what we want from the regime,” Keane said.
“We don’t intend to throw then a lifeline and unfreeze frozen assets to them and give them billions of dollars so that they can recover, reverse the tenants and implementations of the deal and go back to where they were.”
We’ve been putting economic pressures on them since Reagan. We haven’t been able to even have an Embassy in Tehran for almost 50 years. The only thing they will understand is real hardship, like no electricity or we rig a nuke to act like a dirty bomb instead of totally destroying everything. Stop asking them to come to the table, make them really hurt and make them beg to come to the table.
I am sick and tired of Trump’s inaction in finishing off the job. I fully supported him when he went in, but now it’s been weeks of displaying pathetic weakness. I think Taco Trump is more and more fitting. This is coming from someone who voted for him thrice.
I doubt we have the interceptors to take down all the missiles fired. It takes on average of 2 to 3 interceptors for one ballistic missile and we have pretty much run through all we have. So Iran can pretty hit anything they want and we can’t stop them.
Mighty nice of Iran to pull the trigger.
Time to finish off the IRGC and the mullahs for good.
Maybe Israel should erase Hezbollah while we’re at it.
There are reports that Iran gave Kuwait a flogging, with ballistic missiles, so perhaps your point is correct.
They should convert all of Iran’s frozen assets into dollar bills, and store them in flammable boxes on top of all of their favorite targets. Money shields.
Well done U.S. Armed Forces.
