The Supreme Court is facing an extraordinary showdown with Donald Trump as the justices scramble to finish nearly two dozen opinions before the end of the month — with a president who will lash out if any decisions don’t go his way.
Pending decisions on executive power, immigration, mail ballots and the Second Amendment could all have an outsize influence on the next two years of Trump’s presidency. The court announced opinions on Thursday, but 23 cases remain.
Topping the list is a series of appeals dealing with Trump’s power to fire officials within the executive branch that Congress tried to insulate from presidential control. The court must also rule on the president’s attempt, via an executive order, to end birthright citizenship as it has been understood in the United States for more than a century.
All of it will play out amid an odd political dynamic with the president, who has made clear he will use his bully pulpit to strike out at the court in unusually harsh terms if he loses. When the court tossed out Trump’s emergency global tariffs in February, the president quickly convened a press conference at the White House to claim the justices who voted against him were an “embarrassment to their families.”
Trump is already reacting to an expected loss on birthright citizenship, after making history as the first siting president to attend an oral argument.
“They will be ruling against us on Birthright Citizenship, making us the only Country in the World that practices this unsustainable, unsafe, and incredibly costly DISASTER,” Trump posted on social media in mid-May. “I don’t want loyalty, but I do want and expect it for our Country.”
At the same time, Trump recently invited the court’s conservatives to a state dinner...

The decisions are for the country. Trump is just looking out for our interests unlike the piles of human garbage at CNN.
An Opinion day is scheduled for this Thursday. I’ll start the usual thread at around 9:45 that morning. 23 cases remain pending.
“”An Opinion day is scheduled for this Thursday””
Will that be the first and the others to follow all month, right? Glad you’re on top of it...
That’s an amazing example of bias. Laid on real thick.
“... a president who will lash out if any decisions don’t go his way.”
Remember when Obama chewed out the entire Supreme Court live on national TV because he didn’t like the Citizens United decision. Because I sure do.
Will that be the first and the others to follow all month, right? Glad you’re on top of it..
We will probably have opinion days each Thursday for the rest of June. They will probably add in an additional two days as well.
Hey soy boy Fritze, there isn’t anything wrong with lashing out at the Roberts’ court, especially when they rule based on politics. And, don’t forget, Obama lashed out at the Court as well. But, only Trump gets called on it.
Everything is thought of as a Trump win or loss. People freaking out about the reflecting pool should be so eye opening
The article is from CNN, I hardly consider such bias amazing coming from them.

When a decision goes against Trump by a single vote he will call into question the validity of the judgment by pointing to a justice that was not legally seated... the auto-pen justice..
Just wait...
Fireworks will begin when Trump eventually exercises the power of the executive branch and says WILL NOT COMPLY
The ONLY real power that can be brought to bear against a sitting president is impeachment and with Trump in possession of blackmail materials he did NOT collect but likely does possess and control he will make it subtly clear he will use it....
Hard to cast a vote that will expose unspeakable economic and other crimes you have committed...
Trump does not seem all that concerned about midterms and polls... IMO he knows he has massive leverage, I can think of no other reason for some of his recent actions and statements... he has the cards and is the master of leverage and he never forgets a betrayal...
