Now that the primary is concluded, it's time for us to come together.
Hopefully, the Democrats dump several hundred million dollars into Texas (and not into states where they have decent candidates such as North Carolina).
Paxton will win but we shouldn’t be taunting the opposition. On victory night I’d let it rip.
It is sad that it is this close.
I’m not particularly fond of the methodology used (rounding up or down on percentages?) but it seems like Talarico leads among Black voters. Even female voters slightly prefer Paxton, as do Hispanics.
Agreed, it is absolutely shocking that it is that close,,,,,,especially in Texas. Geeeezzzz….
If Texas elects Whackadoodle it will because the blue cities ... Houston, Austin, San Antonio and maybe Dallas have turned to the “Dark Side” and want to become successful like California, New York, Illinois ... you know ... Government puppets.
Victory first. Then, and only then, watch the Democrat Socialists do an autopsy on “what went wrong”.
Until then, suppress the glee, and proceed with all necessary GOTV, taking the issues to the people.
Talarico is not a real Texan, Hell, he is not even a real Christian, but don’t let that distort your view that it should be on the issues alone, no ad hominem attacks, which ought to be illegitimate in any case.
It’s really not that close. Talarico is at 43%. Where does anyone see the opportunity for him to grow that percentage? Paxton and the Republicans have five months to hammer Talarico and acquaint Texas voters with how out of the mainstream he is. This will be a 10 point Paxton victory, possibly more.
Remember, in September before the 2018 election, Robert “Beto” O’Rourke was 2% ahead of Cruz in polling. Cruz ultimately won with 50.9% of the vote. Your point still remains, however.
> Hopefully, the Democrats dump several hundred million dollars into Texas<
Seeing the DNC is broke and heavily in debt, I hope they borrow a billion for Texas.
EC
Paxton unfortunately has a lot of skeletons in his closet. That said, Talarico is a complete left-wing loon.
**I think Paxton will win, but the fact that Talarico is even in the game illustrates how far the leftwing cancer has spread.**
Just remember Kamala got 48%.
**Victory first. Then, and only then, watch the Democrat Socialists do an autopsy on “what went wrong”.**
Something tells me it would be best to win by small margins. It will drive them further into crazy. Our ‘close’ wins will be more conservative. The problem is when a ‘crisis’ comes along they can take advantage of. Think covid, or ‘worst economy in 50 years’ combined with read my lips.
Trannyrico wants Texans to give up beef and eat lawn clippings. Sorry Tranny. I won’t be joining with you and the steers to graze out in the pasture.
As Chuck Schumer once said, while he was telling how bad Trump’s poll number was, “Poll number is up and down! It doesn’t matter!”
Wasn’t Ted Cruz down by more than 5pt at this point against Bento?
The Republicans need to run scared, hitting the right MAGA issues, showing character, and spending like their lives depend on it.
In 2024, Cruz beat the RealClear average by 4 points:

And, defeated Allred by 8 points.
That year, Cruz was outspent, but not by much.
In 2018, Beto beat by the RealClear average by 4 points:

Cruz only won by 2 points.
That year (2018) Beto WAY outspent Cruz (like 2-to-1).
“Paxton unfortunately has a lot of skeletons in his closet.”
What skeletons?
