How hard is it to understand: if you don’t have a job requiting access to classified documents, you don’t get access to classified documents. If, for some reason, the current president decides you do need access at home then you will be provided a safe, an alarm system, an access log and a security officer to check on the safe, documents and alarm regularly. You do not keep them in a box next to your Corvette just because you feel like keeping them. Maybe a former national security advisor is the type of position where you keep your clearance so you can talk to the current one at any time. But in that case it would have been done officially.
