WASHINGTON, D.C. — After two decades of rising support for LGBTQ+ issues, U.S. attitudes have plateaued and begun to slide back modestly. Approval of same-sex marriage, moral acceptance of gay and lesbian relations, and endorsement of gender changes are all down from peaks reached in the early 2020s.
While most Americans still favor legal same-sex marriages, the 65% who do so today is down six percentage points from the peak in 2022 and 2023. Similarly, the percentage viewing gay or lesbian relations as morally acceptable, 62%, has not been lower since 2016. And the share of Americans who consider changing one's gender morally acceptable has declined eight points over the past five years, to 38%.

There was never such level of support. It was propaganda, coercion, and legislation. The fiction couldn’t continue.

Well, yeah. They engage in sexual practices that don’t result in children. And liberals abort their children which prevents them from becoming gay. Gays should be thankful for straight Christians. Otherwise, where would future gays come from?🙄

I wonder if the questions are cooked to make it easy to agree with the agenda. These results show the pushback is growing but may hide the true level of fatigue with alphabet mafia’s in your face quest for special rights and status.
It was during the COVID scare, so the noise probably camouflaged it.
I attribute it also to the growing conservatism of young people, signaled, for example, by the reported upsurge in Bible purchasing and more and more young people returning to conservative churches or seeking out churches for the first time to learn more about Jesus. I can say that all the conservative Catholic parishes in my area are bursting at the seams with young people and young families and their children. It warms my heart to see it.

I remember reading an article about the morphing of the language in these polls over many years. It started out as "do you think two people of the same sex can get married?," to "do you support two married people of the same sex having legal recognition?"
The latter poses it as a forgone conclusion, so it is a powerful incentive to answer in the affirmative.
These numbers of support would plummet if the average joes and janes could get the sense that it wasn’t a position that they should hold in spite of their deeper instincts and beliefs, in other words much of that support is very shallow and not deeply held, it is a ‘go with the crowd (and elites)’ shrugging of shoulders.
Meanwhile, in the far north, the Way Wacky Woke Woksters have managed this. Instead of LGBTQ+, the Canadians have:

A lot of support has also resulted from coercion, where activist homosexual children, whom their parents still love deeply, threaten to cut off all contact if they won’t approve of their sinful choices. Some of them use purchased children in the emotional blackmail in the worst cases.
It is fake support because it is extorted support.
It is relentless here in Canada. There is no tolerance for dissent. Risk losing your job if you don’t join the bandwagon.

Approval ratings off by a factor of 10 at least. A 6 percent idiot factor will stretch it.

I saw a posting on X this morning were someone reposted a politician saying something about “gay marriage” being abolished, and the poster insisted that the guy be removed from office, and worse.
I am VERY skeptical; the numbers for support of this LGBTQ+ insanity/madness seem suspiciously high to me!
Recognizing that there is declining support for the LGBTQ+ insanity/madness is telling, but the “high” points seem, somehow, “cooked?”
