This is the moment a student dying from a 7cm stab wound to his chest is handcuffed by police.
In body-worn camera footage, Henry Nowak says ‘I can’t breathe’ as police officers handcuff him.
Weapons-obsessed killer Vickrum Digwa, 23, can be heard telling officers he was the victim with a swollen eye and insists his victim wasn’t stabbed.
Nowak, dying in a pool of blood on the drive of a Hampshire home, can be heard calling out ‘I’ve been stabbed’ three times before an officer replies ‘You’ve been stabbed? Whereabouts? I don’t think you have mate’.
He is placed into cuffs, calling out ‘I can’t breathe’ as officers decide what to do next.
They put him on his side and check for his wounds. He is placed under arrest on suspicion of assault before the same officer says ‘He’s going to be sick I think’.
A female officer is heard calling for an ambulance as another says ‘His pupils aren’t even reacting’ to her torch.
Digwa has been jailed for life with a minimum term of 21 years for the murder of the University of Southampton student.

That is a three minute video. The police response is better than I expected.
The perp is right there giving misinformation, otherwise they might have figured it out a bit sooner.
But, not sure if the police could have responded much better.
Not arresting him would have been better - but the perp is right there being an eye-witness claiming the victim is the perp.
The victim did not say where he had been stabbed when they asked him. That would have helped. The police are not seeing the blood from the stab wound, the dark sweater doesn’t help.
They need to be applying direct pressure on the wounds to stop the bleeding, but first they have to find them.

Well, most stabbings happen externally to internally. And, he was bleeding onto the driveway, apparently.
The bobbie was an idiot.
He was bleeding internally from the fatal ‘chest’ wound that had severed a major artery.
The video is dark, but we cannot see the wound/blood.
There was a cut to the face, and cuts to the rear of his legs.
I don’t think it mattered much what the officers did. The kid stopped responding within about 3 minutes of them arriving.
They wouldn’t have been able to save him, but they could have at least tried.

That just backs up when I was saying. The stabbing is what killed Nowak.
