MyPillow must decide whether to be firm or soft as ransomware crims demand pay
The Register (barf) ^ | 05/26/2026 | Jessica Lyons

Posted on 05/28/2026 7:33:23 AM PDT by chucklecore

"Crims found the soft spot in the company's security. MyPillow, the US-based bedding brand founded by election conspiracy theorist Mike Lindell, has been listed by Play ransomware extortionists as an alleged victim.

The pillow shop first appeared on Play’s name-and-shame data leak site on Monday, with the gang threatening to leak stolen data by Friday if MyPillow execs don’t pay the ransom demand.

While the extortionists didn’t specify how many gigabytes of data they allegedly stole from MyPillow, they claim it includes “private and personal confidential data, client documents, budget, payroll, IDs, taxes, finance information” and more, according to the dark-web post seen by The Register and shared on social media by threat-intel firm FalconFeeds..."

The author's blatant TDS makes it kind of hard to understand, but apparantley MyPillow got hit by ransomware and today is their deadline before they leak whatever they stole.

“election conspiracy theorist”

Because stating the obvious based on the obvious is of course “a conspiracy!!”

What’s even better is that this man spent his own money to investigate.

That’s not conspiracy theory.

This happened to the company I work for back in 2021. I was not involved in the immediate aftermath but when I got back from vacation I had to dive deep into the restoration process as I am an I.T. guy.

My company basically decided they hackers could go pound sand and worked with our insurance company to rebuild our architecture better and more secure than ever because it was way overdue to do so. We looked at this as an hard lesson but an opportunity.

Our saving grace was our core “source of truth” system is not Windows based (Linux hosted Universe/Pick/multivalue) thus the hackers didn’t really even touch it. They just torched everything around it. So we were able to safely prop up our core system and get our critical operation (distribution) up and running inside of 2 weeks then slowly and methodically built out from there.

The insurance company (we had a policy that covered this situation) told us the AVERAGE time to get critical systems back up and running is around 2 months so we totally beat the averages. They were astounded and many of my friends told me when I was on vacation (in Europe so I was really out of pocket) that I may not have a job when I got home because this kind of think sinks companies.

“We already have all the pieces of the puzzle,” Lindell said. “When you talk about evidence, we have enough evidence to put everybody in prison for life –300 some million people.”

I have purchased things from My Pillow and hope my data is not compromised. But nowadays, so many companies have been hacked, that this is just one more.

“I have purchased things from My Pillow and hope my data is not compromised.”

I purchased two pillows but it was at Costco promotion. Dumb me. I tossed them away instead of taking them back.

It does not appear to be the PCI data (credit card) information, which is to be kept separate from all the rest of the data.

It would likely just be names, addresses, and items purchased.

It could also be a ruse, but we would know, once released.

He should put that money toward a bounty on the fingers of those responsible.

Election fraud is now a known fact and no longer a theory. These propagandists (journalists) should keep up with things.

I concur. This is high level crime enterprise that is now a national security problem. Frankly, I’d get behind a movement to contract Blackwater to solve the issue permanently

I wonder how often the John Brennan cabal of the CIA have used these kinds of tactics to fund their many illicit off book side projects,

That is, when they’re not stockpiling gold bars under their mattresses.

I’d be tempted to just let it all be released. If someone gets hurt, maybe that will be an incentive to get a national effort funded and going to put an end to this. Backtracking who’s responsible is a good job for AI.

Meanwhile it could be embarrassing to see who among the liberal elites are now enjoying the best sleep of their life!.

Data theft should be a capital offense. Compounded by extortion should make it a non-negotiable sentence.

My pillow is pretty soft; but, I can wad it up really tight if I want it to be firm.

Sounds like a job for Liam Neeson. His action movies are pretty good.
