New York Governor Kathy Hochul did her best to try and own President Donald Trump when asked a question about his New York Knicks fandom and things went horribly wrong.
Earlier in the day, news broke that Trump might attend one of the Knicks’ NBA Finals games.
Trump is from New York and has said in the past he is a lifelong Knicks fan.
When asked about Trump’s Knicks fandom, Hochul fired back with an answer that attempted to show she knows more about the team’s history than Trump does.
And she failed miserably.
“What do you say to President Trump saying he’s a lifelong Knicks fan?” a reporter asked.
“I’d ask him to name the starting lineup of the 1993 championship team and see how he does,” Hochul replied.
Of course, the problem with that answer is the Knicks didn’t win a championship in 1993.
The last time the Knicks won the NBA Finals was all the way back in 1973.
In the 1992-93 season, the Knicks were eliminated in the Eastern Conference finals by the Chicago Bulls.

Stupid bitch probably can’t even make a decent sandwich.
In some ways, we, as Red & Blue Americans are making progress. If all Gov. Hochul had to say about President Trump attending a game in NY was a lighthearted, random test question, that’s okay.
I can think of other Dem politicians who would have had very dark and nasty responses to that question. So Gov. Hochul seems to have moved on from unrelenting resistance to a wary acceptance of our president.
The very first March Madness NCAA tournament game I got to see in person was 2018, and one of the teams was that year’s eventual champion, Villanova.
Jalen Brunson and Mikal Bridges were key players on that team, so I will be rooting for them to win a championship together in the pros as well.
Without looking it up, I think the starting 5 of the last NY Knicks championship team was.
Walt “Clyde” Frazier
Earl “The Pearl” Monroe
Willis Reed
Dave Debusschere
Bill Bradley - later went on to become a US Senator from NJ
Ugly and stupid is a terrible way to go through life.
Hochul has risen far above her level of incompetence
Marv Albert calling Knicks games on the radio in ‘73 was badass !
How about just say "Yay Knicks!" and then STFU, Chatty Kathy?
Don’t forget Josh Hart, who played along with Brunson and Bridges on the 2016 team!
She learned that from Attny Jim Trotter III; a tactic typically employed in small, good-ol-boy Southern towns.
I’d like to see her name the starting lineup of the 2026 Knicks without looking it up.
“Attny Jim Trotter III”
Yeah, prosecuting that hyena-ous crime.
If the Knicks lose, Madmani will probably have the players hanged from cranes in front of Gracie Mosque.
whoa..Dave Debusschere, theres a blast from the past. I remember when he was a Detroit Pistion...and he also played for the Chicago White Sox baseball. Gettin old, geez.
I once met a Libyan businessman who told me a story about a soccer player in the Libyan domestic league who became so popular, that Kaddafi banned the TV/radio sports announcers from saying his name. They could only call him by his jersey "#12"
Then the next year, Kaddafi made the team change his jersey #
Yep, but I didn’t get to see him play in person though.
Always liked Jay Wright as a coach, too.
The man may have had some “proclivities” in his private life but he was a great announcer for multiple sports and passed his talent down to his sons as well.
“YES!”
“AND IT COUNTS!”
“A SPECTACULAR MOVE BY JORDAN!”

Two other players from that team were Jerry Lucas and Phil Jackson who went on the coach the Chicago Bulls and LA Laker and won multiple championships with each one.
