The Democratic Party's official X account deleted a post politicizing the deaths of American service members in Iran on Memorial Day after one of its most prominent veteran lawmakers publicly pushed back.
The post was one of several made by both liberal and Democratic organizations using the day to pin the deaths of troops on President Donald Trump, some of which remain up:
However, while these posts may have drawn some ire, none of them came from the official account of one of America's two major political parties.
"Today, we honor the American heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice in Trump's war with Iran," the post read.
It's unclear whether blowback from conservative accounts is what ultimately killed the post, but Illinois Democratic Sen. Tammy Duckworth -- a former U.S. Army helicopter pilot who served in Iraq -- also served as high-profile pressure from the left to take the post down.
"It is incredibly distasteful to use our heroic dead for a political attack on Memorial Day," she wrote.
"I’m a Democrat and I condemn this post by the DNC."

As much as I oppose everything she does in the political arena, I will always respect and admire her military heroism. I would be honored to serve with her anytime, anywhere.

If I may ask, did you lose both your legs and mobility in one of the remaining arms, serving America as a helicopter pilot in the Iraq war?
She did. She's entitled to her political views and actions. I disagree with pretty much all of them, but IMO she's earned the right to them.

I see any of the 535+ of the Swamp Critters that have been there since 2015/16, that you appear to hold in high esteem, as traitors/traitors adjacent and/or coup co-conspirators.
You and I have mileages that vary greatly when it comes to any who’ve been serving in DC during the coup years.
I see them as riding a long train of abuses and usurpations.
We don’t disagree. My comment applies only to Duckworth who IMO earned the right to her stance even though I disagree with it.
The rest of those villainous scum get no such respect from me and I pray daily for righteous justice to be served on them.
