Lebanese President Joseph Aoun declared on Monday that Israel’s complete military withdrawal from southern Lebanon is a “non-negotiable" prerequisite, even as Beirut finalizes preparations for a new round of US-mediated diplomatic talks with Jerusalem.
According to a report by the pan-Arab, London-based newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat, Aoun used the anniversary of Israel’s historical withdrawal from the region in 2000 to sharply criticize ongoing Israeli counter-terror operations against Hezbollah.
“This year, the anniversary of the liberation comes as Lebanon is weighed down by a painful reality," Aoun asserted in an official statement. “Israeli attacks have not stopped, and our dear southern villages are still suffering under a renewed occupation," he claimed.
Conspicuously absent from the Lebanese leader’s address was any mention of the Iran-backed Hezbollah terrorist organization, whose relentless, unprovoked rocket and drone barrages targeting northern Israeli communities directly necessitated the IDF’s defensive incursions across the frontier.

All this talking is getting ridiculous.
There isn’t going to be any deal with the shiite psychomullahs.
The other Arab countries can’t get their shit together any more than the EU can….they all end up doing NOTHING.
The US has already bombed missile sites in southern Iran.
They should just keep bombing.
The demoncrats will attack Trump no matter what he does.
Demoncrats aren’t even Americans anymore.
They hate America and Israel…….they’re on Hamas’s, Hezbollah’s and Iran’s side.

They are in no position to make demands of any kind on Israel.
If anyone should be making demands it should be Israel demanding that Hezbollah be kicked out of Lebanon.
The level of chutzpah on the part of the Lebanese is beyond belief.
Actually, the Gulf states have carried out several strikes on Iran. Recently, for the very first time, Iran attacked Kuwait, attempting to kidnap or kill several American troops stationed there. In response, Kuwait is now invoking Article 51 and entering the fray.
“Lebanon cannot control Hamas”
I assume that’s a typo. Gaza is hundreds of kilometers to the south of Lebanon.
They’re also holding onto the Iranian commandos captured during the raid, which did not go well.
The Lebanese government is in no position to make demands
Israel is about to step up strikes on Hezbollah as things stand.
Talking of withdrawal is off the table
iPhones have some weird AI auto complete app which is infuriating
Demand all you want, I think Israel is done letting Lebanon be a launching ground for attacks on their country. You want em gone? Call off the Hezbollah dogs.
They ought to find a counter to these newfangled drones, probably delivered courtesy of Iran, using the cover of their cease fire. It doesn’t pay to do cease fires with these people. Finish them. Wash your hands off after. Move on.
New strategy: Hezbollah launches ‘commander hunt’ using drones

Tactic, not “strategy,” A7.
Lebanon is beyond ridiculous.
When and IF they REALLY want to rule there own country from Beirut and not the South, controlled by Shiite/Hezbollah/Iran domination, then maybe there is a chance for peace.
Main problem: No unity between many factions and many Lebanese Army personnel, identify with Hezbollah.
In the meantime, France continues to pursue a policy of surrender and the US funds the Lebanese Army in the hope of bringing these fools around.
Without Iran, Hezbollah would dry up and the Lebanese people would be able to TRY to be friends with their neighbors to the south, Israel.
“That would be Hezbollah, not Hamas . Not sure how I did that one.
What’s the difference beyond geography?
