Iran's top negotiator, Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, told Pakistani army chief Asim Munir during talks in Tehran on Saturday that the U.S. was not an honest party in negotiations to end their war and Iran would not compromise on its national rights, state television reported.
A regional mediation push led by Pakistan aims to narrow differences between Iran and the U.S. after weeks of war that have left the vital waterway of the Strait of Hormuz closed to most shipping despite a nervous ceasefire, upending global energy markets.
Iranian state media reported that Munir had also met President Masoud Pezeshkian in the presence of Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, with whom he had two meetings, before flying out.
The talks reportedly centred on a 14-point document proposed by Iran, which it considers the main framework for the discussions, and messages exchanged between the two sides.

President Trump, consider this: https://www.lerctr.org/~transit/healy/jap.wav
It was knowing ya, raghead!
The mullahs are expert at jerking us around. It really is time for Trump to fish or cut bait. That’s easy for me to say, I won’t be responsible for the deaths of innocents, and I’m sure that’s the reason for Trump continuing to wait. But, that wait isn’t helping anyone.
I agree. President Trump should tell them that these are not negotiations. They are being given an ultimatum.
Fine. Bomb the living crap out of these bass-ackwards a-holes. Be done with them all.
🇺🇸🇮🇷 Marco Rubio on Iran: “There may be news later today...there may not be”
President Donald Trump said he was “an hour away” from deciding whether to attack Iran on Tuesday before he was convinced to postpone the strike for a few days.
“We were all set to go ... It would have been happening right now,” Trump told reporters Tuesday at the White House when asked how close he was to ordering that attack, which would have officially ended the shaky U.S.-Iran ceasefire that remains nominally in place.
Trump claimed in a Truth Social post Monday afternoon that he was delaying a previously unannounced strike planned for Tuesday because several Middle Eastern leaders asked him to “hold off” in light of ongoing discussions with Iran.
They should study DJT's history of resolve and cut a deal before they meet Mister Bunker Buster.
SURE WOULD BE INTERESTING IF TRUMP ASKED THE W H PRESS CORPS:
“WHICH US CITY DO YOU WISH TO HAVE IRAN NUKE FIRST???”
“WHERE DO YOUR FAMILIES LIVE?”
Faster, please
Gee....I don’t remember the media pummeling the Secretary of States during WWII.
While being helped by people at FR who are cheering them on and keep posting articles like this.
"When you have to shoot, shoot! Don't talk." ("Tuco")
I suspect they’re holding out until the mid-terms - knowing Democrats will accept their terms.
The reason for these sorts of seemingly useless negotiations is: (1) to give time for preparations for the next phase of fighting; (2) to consolidate domestic and regional political support; (3) to better understand the enemy’s frame of mind and goals; and (4), to show that the enemy has made further conflict unavoidable by not negotiating in a serious manner.
Yep. That’s the one.
Well then, bombs away! Start with the power grid transmission lines and towers, keep hitting them over and over. They are mostly remote, so not as high a threat of defenses, and they are cheaper and faster to fix than power plants when its over.
