When serial killer Rex Heuermann returns to court on June 17, eight families will finally receive justice.

Heuermann, who has pleaded guilty to the murders of eight young women whose bodies were left on Gilgo Beach and elsewhere here in Suffolk County, is set to receive three life sentences without parole, followed by 100 years to life in prison.

Death penalty would be justice.

No death penalty in NY and now they want to go the same route as California did with the Manson family and one finally DID out on parole.

Death penalty would be justice.

Dream of such justice. Not in New York.

The last execution in New York took place on August 15, 1963 using the electric chair in Sing Sing.

There are paragraphs of the many blocks and reinstatements and more blocks since then. In 2016 the last death penalty statutes were officially removed from the state's law books. No death penalty. Only federal cases.

The USA should have a general target of executing 0.1% of all felons in, or entering, the US Federal / State prison system.

That would be a mere 1500 a year.

Just make a list and pick the absolute worst, most violent, offenders. This guy would certainly make the list.

I guarantee you would see serious crime in the USA drop by 50% immediately.

How long is each life sentence? Are there different numbers applied depending on the state? And, how does one go about judging when a life sentence has been served?

I’d take 100 extra years after each sentence. It should be life in prison for each murder and 100 extra years after each life sentence has been served.

BTW, Xi Jinping has killed more Americans with the Corona virus and with Fentanyl. When will Trump authorize a mission to extract that criminal from China? Millions of life sentences due for Xi.

How long is each life sentence?
= = =

I would declare as a fly. Livespan (vaires) of maybe 30 days.

10 life sentences gets me out in 10 months, or maybe 5, with 1/2 off for good behavior (If I don’t buzz around the toilets).

People forget the United states played a huge roll in “gain of function” research that went into weaponizing the Covid virus. My assumption is that our culpability is why we don’t go after the Chi-coms.

The correct spelling is 'role'; but that's neither here nor there.

The U.S. and many other countries do engage in experimenting with viruses, but we don't do it with the intent of eventually unleashing death upon the citizens of any country. China is the opposite of doing research with the intent of doing good. YOU cannot equate China's intents with those of the U.S.

Think about another set of events, where our adversaries have targeted American citizens. China sent Fentanyl (via Mexico) with the intent of killing Americans, mostly those younger and of military age. How many times has America done the same to other countries?

Oh my god, the whole credibility of my post is shot because I made a syntax error. I should hide my head in shame.

Initial research on Corona virus gain of function took place a the UNC Chapel Hill, that research was transferred to the national labs in DC. Shortly after the Obama administration banned gain of function research in the U.S. The research was transferred to a lab in B.C. Canada and was funded by a $600,000 grant from our friend Fauchi. From there the research went to Wuhan under an $3.7 million NIH grant administered by Eco Health Alliance under Ralph Baric.

Funny how Bill Gates and the WHO were war gaming the Covid outbreak just months before the outbreak and Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson and Johnson just happened to be working on a MRNA “vaccine”.

So to believe the U.S. is absolved of culpability and the fault all lays with China is tragically naive. There’s no love lost between China and myself but assessing all the blame there doesn’t fly. This was a deep state opp.

Okay, know-it-all, how many dangerous and deadly viruses have any U.S. labs released or accidentally let escape into the general population?

There’s no love lost between China and myself

Yet, you're taking China's side in the dispute. Hmm.. 'no love lost'?

but assessing all the blame there doesn’t fly.

The Covid virus that killed hundreds of thousands around the world and caused heavy economic losses to many countries, and forced billions to HIDE in their homes and not go to schools or work or enjoy the outdoors, was CHINA's FAULT. NO EXCUSES!

This was a deep state opp.

Opp? Whatever. BTW, what syntax error did I accuse you of making. A spelling error is not a syntax error. You actually need to learn the difference, and the written word.

At the center of the whole Covid discussion, is how it all began.

Covid did not start in 2019 or with any one country. Covid had its origin back in 2003, with the SARS virus, which is a coronavirus cousin. It's the original corona virus antecedent, at least in modern times. Experimentation with corona virus didn't start with China alone, but the specific strain which CAME FROM CHINA, is the Covid-19 virus. Duh!

It helps to be informed and not just argue for arguments sake:

The original SARS virus and the COVID-19 virus are closely related. Both are types of coronaviruses that belong to the same large family (Coronaviridae) and share a significant portion of their genetic material.

The Viruses: The virus that caused the 2003 SARS outbreak is called SARS-CoV (or SARS-CoV-1), while the virus that causes COVID-19 is called SARS-CoV-2. The two share roughly 79% of their genetic code.

Family Traits: Both viruses originate from animals (such as bats) and are part of the Betacoronavirus genus. They are named "SARS" because both bind to similar receptors in the human body (like the ACE2 protein), targeting the lower respiratory system and causing severe acute respiratory syndrome in infected cells.

Yup you’re right. We should nuke Beijing tonight and absolve ourselves of any culpability. I love people that point fingers and make others take all responsibility while pointing out spelling and English faux pas to undermine some else. Seems like Democrats do the same thing.

You're not answering the questions I posed. You're the type that when he feels cornered will result to presenting ridiculous arguments or to insults and personal attacks.

I love people that point fingers

If I point fingers, it's just to correct your misconceptions and lies.

and make others take all responsibility

If responsibility rests elsewhere, I'll acknowledge the facts. What you've done is to say, 'yeah, but the U.S. does it too', while not presenting the evidence for the accusations.

while pointing out spelling and English faux pas to undermine some else.

Pointing out spelling errors is not meant to make you feel small. But, if someone pointed out my spelling errors I would acknowledge the fact and use he knowledge for future use. BTW, spelling errors are not the same as typos, which I do once in a while.

Seems like Democrats do the same thing.

Democrats don't have the facts on their side, which makes YOU a democrat, if that's what you meant. I can forgive spelling errors and even syntax errors, but not ignorance of the facts. So, had you ever heard of SARS before I pointed it out to you?
