President Donald Trump has called for the Department of Justice to open an investigation into the state of Maryland for sending out mail-in ballots to individuals of the incorrect political party ahead of the state’s closed primary elections.

After the mistake, the Maryland Board of Elections made the decision to mail out additional correct ballots despite having no ability to indicate which ballots were originally sent out incorrectly. Elections officials have not publicly released a plan for how to invalidate the original ballots.
Dan Cox, a candidate in the gubernatorial race, criticized the decision as it created an environment for “doubling the potential for vote fraud via mail in ballots.”

Trump’s statement laid the blame at the feet of Maryland’s Democrat Governor Wes Moore, saying that the move was “to make sure that Democrats win.”
“In addition, many of these Ballots went to Democrats, so any Republican running in Maryland doesn’t have a chance,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social. “This was done by the Corrupt Governor of the State, Wes Moore. He allowed this to happen in order to make sure that Democrats win. It never made sense to me that Maryland was considered an automatic Democrat State, but now I see why. I’m sure this has gone on for years.”
“I’m going to ask the Attorney General of the United States, and the DOJ, to bring an immediate investigation into this situation,” Trump added.
The Maryland primary elections will be held on June 23.

The United States is sorth of like a club of states that supposedly agree to follow a set of rules but the penalties for not doing so are not defined. Anyone know of a penalty for states that don’t follow the rules?
How about we just kick them out of the club? No vote on a national level, no representation just send their congress creeps and spinators home, no benefits, no federal tax collections, no social security or other benefits for their citizens. Just out of the club. See how fast they mend their ways Pick one, isolate the state and make an example out of it.

So, DOJ investigates, they find guilt. What next? Put the state or the governor in jail? Nothing, that is what happens.
They disenfranchise the vote of the entire nation and nothing happens. Hardly seems right.
The other states should at least have the legal right to cut their privates off.

Where would someone find that option in the Constitution?
Reason X the Constitution is such a flawed document. It has no provision for remedy of non-compliance. It just assumes everybody will behave.
Did you not read or comprehend the first paragraph of the post?
Place the state in receivership. Make it a ward of the Federal government. It is clearly unable to manage its own affairs.

I did, but still don’t understand why you choose to attack our constitution itself, flawed or otherwise.

What would DOJ investigate? The state has already said the first ballots sent have already been cancelled in their system. That is easy to check.
The state also sent out letters and new ballots, so the idea that the first set of ballots will be used is a stretch.

It was written for a non-DEI country without a 19th Amendment. We are no longer that, NOT EVEN CLOSE.
