In [2021-2023], thousands of children crossed the border alone and ended up working in some of the most dangerous jobs in the country. Migrant children as young as 13 suffered chemical burns on overnight factory shifts, had their limbs mangled by conveyor belts or fell to their deaths from roofs...
...[HHS Secretary] Xavier Becerra [who was in charge of finding homes for the kids] began urging staff members to move them more quickly through shelters... Employees told me they loosened protections that had been in place for years, including in screening sponsors...
Most of [the kids Becerra placed with sponsors] were not reuniting with parents but living with sponsors who often encouraged, helped or even forced them to work. Thousands ended up in punishing jobs that were illegal for minors — cleaning slaughterhouses or working at lumber mills or in roofing...
This week, the same H.H.S. employees [who opposed what Becerra did at HHS] told me they were frustrated that the California race seemed fixated on claims about 85,000 “missing” children. What troubled them more, they said, was that the government rushed to release 250,000 children and then did so little to find out what became of them...
Children did die after being sent to their sponsors. Others were catastrophically injured...
[Some kids were] allowed to go to school only after working night shifts, or not allowed to go at all. In other words, the kind of situations H.H.S. was supposed to screen out...
After our reporting, the White House moved quickly to fix many of the problems, including strengthening sponsor vetting and... a hotline...
H.H.S. overhauled how it followed up with children. Caseworkers began visiting sponsors’ homes...
The changes were driven by [Biden], who instructed his aides to take immediate action after the first article was published...

The key thing to keep in mind is that the audience for criticisms of Becerra is the Dem base. They're the ones you have to convince. You have to do that using things they can relate to, and you need to use sources they trust. Becerra already calls discussion of this issue "MAGA talking points" because he knows that works with the Dem base: few of them will listen to anything relating to Fox News, MAGA, etc.
Becerra is a slick lawyer and skilled at deflecting criticism. Focusing only on the 85,000 aspect plays right into his hands because he already has an answer (see this sickening video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=36-TKAGzYCY).
The effective way is to focus on the child labor and moral responsibility aspects. The fact that Biden changed how HHS operated showed that Becerra had loosened standards to an unsafe level. And, even if he had no statutory responsibility, what sort of person would send kids to potentially unsafe homes and then think their only moral obligation to those kids was three phone calls?
And, only use leftwing sources. Thankfully that's not difficult. The NYT articles about this won a Pulitzer Prize, and Dems like AOC called out Becerra (https://www.congress.gov/118/meeting/house/116285/documents/HMTG-118-IF02-20230726-SD016.pdf). Get in the habit of saying "As the NYT reported..." or "As AOC said..."
If you want to help, get on to social media and reply to Becerra's posts in the way described above. Your goal must be to turn the Dem base against him, so don't alienate them. If you want to criticize Biden's border policies, please don't do it when discussing this issue. And, reply to posts by Becerra's opponents (Hilton, Bianco, Steyer) and demand they focus on the aspects discussed above. Those like Katie Porter and Villaraigosa are desperate enough that they'd go all out on this issue if they thought it would help them.
“””””Multinational companies ignored young-looking faces on their factory floors.”””””
As though they just walked in off the streets past the guard station and into the factory and started working?
No applications filled out, no interview with a hiring person, no clothing rules or OSHA posters, no introduction to the foreman, no anything, strangers just appearing and doing stuff inside the corporate factories?
You understand, of course, that such an extension of the curriculum vitae is an enhancement for a California Democrat Socialist politician. And Xavier Becerra takes full advantage of that page in the playbook.
Why would the slimes have it in for Becerra, who’s as left-wing as they come?
The NYT’s was covering for Xavier Becerra and Biden. They don’t get to pretend to be the good guys now.
Because they would prefer Steyer who is even more left-wing.

If this is true the companies need to ruined and people put in jail.
He’s not going to drop out. Voting is already open. What it could theoretically do is cause voters not to vote, or to vote for one of the also-rans
How many of the 85.000 California or 250,000 US illegal minors were sold into sex trafficking?
Yet, that is exactly what they are trying to do here.
This guy is a real clown with all kinds of baggage. I guess that means CA will elect him as their next Governor.
Unless God intervenes, Steyer will be the special idiot in charge of the CA Asylum. And when he and his ilk destroy CA entirely by gutting prop 13(since they cant repeal it) I am going to laugh my ass off.
The Dims love their slaves.
