LANSING, Mich. (WXYZ) — Fay Beydoun, a businesswoman and longtime donor to Governor Gretchen Whitmer, has been charged with 16 felonies after allegedly misusing $20 million of the state budget, Attorney General Dana Nessel announced on Wednesday.

For years, Beydoun was a fixture in Democratic politics, donating tens of thousands of dollars to Democrats across the state and more than $20,000 to Whitmer’s campaigns. She even hosted a fundraiser for the governor at her home, raising $13,500.

The AG alleges that Beydoun forged an invoice from a law firm and used it for grant administration through the MEDC, presented a false description of a lease to the MEDC totaling over $40,000 and used grant funds for personal expenses, including $6,000 worth of rugs, $1000-2000 in catering costs, $5,000 worth of furniture and $1,400 worth of patio and gardening supplies.

Thank you very much and God bless you.

From what I understand, Beydoun is not just a donor, but is Whitmer's best friend.

There is so much fraud and corruption in our government that I'm sure it totals our national debt. We could balance our budget if we removed the fraud and theft from federal, state, and local governments.

However, it seems like everyday we are seeing a new story of one of the perps being arrested. Hopefully, that will continue.

Safe to bet Nessel is planning a run for Governor, she’s not one to pick on one of her kind, she’s got to separate herself from WHitler.

She is an immigrant.

Google now won’t reveal where she is from but earlier, it did and she is from Lebanon.

Revoke her citizenship and deport these lowlife scum animals.

"The $20 million earmark has been under scrutiny for years after reports revealed the nonprofit tied to the grant was not officially registered with the state until after the budget had already passed. Questions also emerged over reported expenditures that allegedly included a $4,500 coffee machine, an $11,000 first-class airline ticket to Budapest, and other controversial purchases. The funding was included in Michigan’s 2022-2023 state budget as part of roughly $1 billion in earmarked spending approved by the Legislature and Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.

Investigators also focused on Beydoun’s position at the time the grant was being pursued. Beydoun served on the governing board of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation while simultaneously seeking the appropriation that the MEDC would later oversee. The affidavit alleges Beydoun was effectively involved in a process where she held influence over an agency tied directly to the grant’s administration.

The controversy deepened after reports indicated Beydoun initially pursued the funding while working for the American Arab Chamber of Commerce, allegedly using chamber staff, email accounts, and resources during discussions with state officials. However, prosecutors say the grant was ultimately awarded to a nonprofit connected to Beydoun’s home address rather than the chamber itself. Beydoun’s attorney, Todd Flood, had not publicly commented as of Wednesday morning."

Every last penny embezzled tax dollars, I'm certain.

This is why the Democrats hated DOGE so much. It was shining too much of a spotlight on this "tax dollars to campaign contributions" money pipeline.
