Graham Linehan: Police must stop being goon squads for trans activists

Graham Linehan has demanded that the police stop acting as a “goon squad” for trans activists.

The Father Ted co-creator, 57, claimed police were being used as “useful idiots” after accusing them of failing to “properly and fairly investigate” allegations made against him by trans activist Sophia Brooks.

Mr Linehan was cleared of harassing Ms Brooks on social media but convicted of criminal damage after snatching the complainant’s mobile phone and throwing it to the ground outside the Battle of Ideas conference on Oct 19, 2024.

The Irish comedy writer has now had his criminal damage conviction overturned after Mrs Justice Amanda Tipples said it was not clear if he had caused the damage to the phone.

Speaking to the Telegraph after the ruling, the writer said: “This recent case is only the latest of 10 years of being harassed by trans activists, using police as useful idiots, enforcers and goon squad.

“For some reason the police seem very ready to believe men dressed as women, but not ready, at all, to believe women – who are women.

“I’m hoping this will give them a little bit more pause when they are being used as a tool by, frankly, psychotic trans activists.”

Earlier, Mr Linehan accused police of “failing in their duty to properly and fairly investigate” by choosing to support the claims of trans rights activists against gender-critical campaigners “even when there has been overwhelming evidence that complaints have been made... in bad faith”.

The hearing on Thursday was shown footage filmed on the trans activist’s phone in the moments leading up to the criminal damage incident.

Sarah Vine KC, Mr Linehan’s lawyer, told the judge the complainant was “determined” to see Mr Linehan convicted as part of a “campaign” against the comedy writer for his gender critical views.

IMHO the British need to:

1. Write into law that the only role of the Royalty in the UK is to be promoters, fighters, and keepers of Britain as a nation and of British tradition.

2. Write into law that any set of ‘laws’ other than British law are invalid in Britain - and to try to enforce them is an act of treason that will result in immediate loss of citizenship and any right to remain in the UK.

3. Write into law that NO non-British citizen can have any power to enact laws, treaties, legislation, etc. for Britain (i.e.; The EU is not allowed to have any role in determining British rule of law or policy. None, zip, zero - ever! To try to circumvent this will be punishable by huge fines, starting at $100,000,000 pounds.

4. Write into law that the only immigration into the UK is via legal application, and that entry will be based upon equality of representation and likelihood of assimilation (e.g. no onslaught of targeted immigration from hostile cultures).

5. Write into law that Britain’s approach to asylum will be to work with allies and involved nations to prevent persecution in the nations in which it is occurring, to find places to place asylum seekers away from danger, and only bring in asylum seekers when it has been definitively established that they are in danger and now alternatives are available.

Done with humanity, compassion, and appropriate legal nuance of course, but in this general tone.

here is something for you most claiming to be trans in the last 10 years are not people dealing with gender dysmorphia they are real life perverts who actually see themselves as the sex they were born with and get off sexually playing the trans role...this is sad because gender dysmorphia is real it is rare and the perverts figured out they can claim to be trans to get away with extremely bad behavior. I have watched this play out over the last 10 years with a stake in it because I have a sister that has gender dysmorphia and lives her life as a guy at first but now claims to be asexual. I have watched this group get co-opted by what can best be described as perverts because they get off on the shock value of claiming to be trans sexual and invading women and men’s private spaces.

Most if not all of your points are already embodied in law; albeit, of course, differently expressed. All lies, as ever, in interpretation and application.
