Keir Starmer warns voters they must prepare for inflation spike caused by Iran and says Britain must be 'much closer to the EU'

Sir Keir Starmer has warned there will be an 'inflation spike' caused by a 'war on two fronts' but says the country must not simply return to the 'status quo' after the war in Iran and instead 'we have to take a different course'.

He agreed with stark Bank of England predictions that the UK could see inflation rise above six per cent and warned that even when the Strait of Hormuz was opened 'I don't want anybody to think it will all return to normal'.

The closure of the crucial shipping channel by Iran has caused havoc around the world by disrupting the flow of oil which has sent prices soaring.

'There are moments in history which will define a generation and I think we are in one of those moments.

'The Iran War is not our war and we are not getting dragged into it. Whatever pressure is put on me, I am not going to drag the United Kingdom into a war. It is not in our national interest but it is impacting us. It is impacting our economy. It is impacting our economy and what is happening on our streets.'

The Prime Minister said the economy had been 'beginning to turn a corner' in the spring with inflation at '3 per cent and dropping and six interest rate cuts in a row' with 'growth figures better than anyone expected' and the 'green shoots of change' apparent, but now that had all changed according to the latest forecasts.

Higher prices due to a commodity shortage are not the same as inflation due to loose monetary policy.

almost every statement or policy announcement by Starmer seems to weaken UK more and more and more...
he’s been digging a great big hole for the once-great Britain

I was going to mention how reminiscent Starmer is of Chamberlain’s similar statements and policy vis-a-vis the 3rd Reich leading up to WW2. All the while Nazi Germany was threatening western civilization and UK... and Chamberlain was seeking appeasement or secret dealings like Starmer.

But it is not the best comparison. Because when the war finally broke out, Chamberlain served loyally in Churchill’s government. Here, Starmer continues, doubles-down on his disastrous policies and statements.

All the while, the British Ruling Elite has been selling out the land to the Islamic invasion.

It really looks like UK is a lost cause.

The British economy was screwed long before the Iran war.
Why is Norway making a fortune from North Sea oil while Britain makes very little from their half of the North Sea?
Norway is making even more money now from higher oil prices, while the UK goes even more broke.
Stop blaming Trump for your screw ups Starmer.

It was screwed in 1945, when they ditched Churchill for Attlee.

***

Translation:

“Even though our economy was toast before the Iran initiative, don’t expect our economy to get any better after the Iran initiative is over, because we intend to continue to squeeze ‘the producers’ as much as possible without actually killing them. Well, ok... it may actually kill them, but no matter. As long as our new muzzie besties, ‘the takers’, are ok, we’re ok with that.

And thank you Donald Trump for this new and exceptionally excellent excuse for our FUBARed economy!”

Grok:

Norway’s government is currently generating hundreds of billions of Norwegian kroner (NOK) annually from North Sea petroleum activities (primarily oil and gas from the Norwegian Continental Shelf), with net cash flow estimates around 521 billion NOK (~$50–55 billion USD, depending on exchange rates) for 2026.

All the while, the British Ruling Elite has been selling out the land to the Islamic invasion.

Obviously, they're not going to stay in England so they'll probably end up in Dubai.

If stopping an irrationally ideologically apocalyptic regime like Iran from getting nuclear weapons that can reach their cities is not their war, then what is?

Any and all British politicians wanting to cozy up to the EU should be voted out of office.

The whole purpose of Brexit was to get control of illegal immigration. Brits have been betrayed by every single leader who entered office promising to control immigration and then increasing it. The British ruling class sold out their own country and their own people. The Brits tragically are ruled by people who hate them and at this point there is nothing they can do about it that they would be willing to do.
