TACOMA, Wash. - At least five people were injured after a stabbing incident at Foss High School in Tacoma, Washington on Thursday afternoon.
Officers responded to a call of a possible stabbing stemming from a fight, and found four students and a security guard injured. Police said it remains unclear whether all the victims were stabbed or hurt by other means, such as falling, and the extent of their injuries is not yet known, though they are believed to be non-life-threatening.
All five victims were taken to a local hospital, where officers are working to gather updates. Authorities said it is not yet clear what was used in the attack or where inside the school it occurred.
Police confirmed that a suspect has been detained, and the scene is secure.

Drove by Foss earlier today. Tacoma is getting rattier. I’m leaving for other reasons in June.
“FOX 13 Seattle confirmed with the Tacoma Fire Department that there are a total of five patients. Four of them are in serious condition. According to the Tacoma Police Department, one suspect is in custody.”
Four hurt seriously.
'Course, that was 50 years ago. I guess things change.

Texas Eagle, could you speculate on what possibly could have changed?
Fifteen years ago, I lived on Bainbridge Island in Puget Sound right across from Seattle. It was a safe enough city to enjoy with good stores and restaurants. Made some friends and every single one of them told me “Never go to Tacoma, it’s dangerous.”
I did have a lovely Black woman who cme out to the house to help when I needed cleaning (I was busy writing and editing books, busy job.). She had a little house in Tacoma and I took her home one day. Very tidy litte house in a nice enough partly Black neighborhood. She was afraid the area was going downhill and it wouldn’t be safe for her. Hope she’s OK
Probably best if I don’t. I’ve kept in touch with a couple of my Curtis HS classmates and they tell me I wouldn’t recognize it.
It’s a shame those beautiful peaceful communities are now nothing but crime-filled cesspools.
Let me take a stab at a possible answer. Maybe... knife?
Was it Sharks vs Jets?
I have a grandson who goes to Lincoln. I remember in my HS days, their sports teams were “athletic and lean” to be nice.
Our HS had about 40 black students in the entire school. I grew up in E Bremerton. Back when the shop teachers, and gym coaches were WW 2 vets, and there was order in the universe.
Preliminary witness accounts suggest the altercation may have started over a dispute regarding a vape pen, though official investigations by the Tacoma Police Department are ongoing. Following the incident, school activities for Friday have been canceled, and counselors will be available on-site when the school reopens Monday.
The suspect is a student at the school. While their identity has not yet been publicly released by authorities, they were detained at the scene and taken into custody.
Six people were injured in total, including four students, a campus security officer, and the suspect. Four of the victims were initially reported to be in critical condition, but all six individuals (including the suspect) are now in stable condition at local hospitals
Authorities be stupid.
That is a great reason to ban guns!
My 7th grade social studies teacher flew P-40s with the Flying Tigers.
I’m sure it’s on the radar. Any excuse will do.
