U.S. Central Command has requested deployment of the Army’s Long Range Hypersonic Weapon, known as Dark Eagle, to the Middle East, according to a Bloomberg report citing a person with direct knowledge of the matter.
A defense official told Fox News Digital the system has reached initial operational capability, marking the first time the U.S. has a land-based hypersonic weapon available for potential use.

Yes. Faster than a mindfulness social worker visit to Tehran.
when you have a war but you don’t send in soldiers and you just use killed and drones and bombs from really high up, what it does is, it speeds up the whole war process. Like in ukraine.
Alert the investors that the dark eagle is on the way—- two weeks
Bet that is very loud when it launches.
I was very near (~100yards) near some type of much smaller and slower anti-missile system when it lit off without warning (to me), and it knocked me flat on my ass.
missiles, not “killed”
thx iphone spellcheck while Im driving
wow I love a good first hand, or ass, story. well done
RE: while I’m driving...
Please watch the road so you don’t run over anybody-—even Dems.
Yes, mother.
US CENTCOM has requested the Dark Eagle hypersonic missile for use against Iran after the IRGC moved its launchers beyond the range of existing US strike systems during the ceasefire, per Bloomberg. Only 8 of the missiles exist and they have never been deployed before.
I’m not familiar with this system.
It seems that THAAD did pretty well in defense but is too expensive for extended use.
I don’t care what their reasoning is:
Bad idea...unless we also possess the means to defeat hypersonic weapons.
you add “hyper” onto anything, and it just sounds cool.
Except maybe a thyroid
I just read an autobiography by a former German prisoner of the Russians in World War Two. He recounted a horrible experience he had when a Panzerfaust (first generation German hand held, shoulder launched anti-tank missile) was demonstrated to his company, at a time before he was captured, and a careless soldier stood behind the individual firing the Panzerfaust. There was a horrible scream; the guy who was standing in the way of the exhaust had his face torn off and died shortly thereafter.
That’ll get Lindsey Graham excited.
The multi-billion-dollar radar control systems were destroyed by a few $20K drone attacks. The missiles are useless without the radar.
The radar installations make great targets. They would need to be heavily defended by anti-drone measures to remain effective for very long. Maybe that is still feasible.
Another less expensive system is needed. It needs to be portable.
Ukraine is supported militarily and economically up by the West. It allows Ukraine, a smaller, poorer country, to hold off Russia.
For now, no one is providing substantial military or financial support to Iran. We have the USA, the richest country, with the biggest military, vs a primitive third world shithole.
So be careful drawing too many analogies to the Russia invasion of Ukraine.
I’m just saying that we have so many problems here to worry about I wish we didn’t have to deal with all these crazies
“””US CENTCOM has requested the Dark Eagle hypersonic missile for use against Iran after the IRGC moved its launchers beyond the range of existing US strike systems””””
I doubt that. We control the air in Iran. A B-52 could drop a dumb bomb from miles away at 35,000 feet.
