Once upon a time, a fellow named Carson dominated late night TV. It was more than a show. My father told me that men would be talking about his lines in the coffee break room. Even people who didn’t watch it knew about his one-liners, because that’s the way it was.
Who is repeating Jimmy Kimmel’s jokes these days? Probably not a lot of people, unless you like a joke about an expectant widow or the current First Lady losing her husband, the president.
Let’s check this out:

So this is funny? Some writer actually presented this to Kimmel for his nightly show? Maybe Kimmel made it up, but a joke about a woman becoming a widow is not the kind of thing that you’d associate with comedy.
So what’s the joke anyway? I could understand a joke about a woman becoming a football widow during the NFL playoffs. I’ve heard women say that and it can be funny, especially when the husband just becomes your neighbor that you watch games with.
So again—who thinks that this is funny? If you do, then you need to see a doctor and get Trump out of your head.

That Joke from Johnny Carson would go way over the head of most young people today. How many today remember what FDR said?
Back during the Bush II presidency, I had satellite radio as I was doing a lot of driving in the wee hours of the morning. They had three cable channels. The redneck channel ran the same program day after day during my commute. I could lip sync it. The other two basically featured “comedians” saying insulting things about Bush II. Here’s what I learned. If the audience applauds the “joke” it wasn’t funny, but they agreed with the sentiment. It seemed that to get your bit on the two comedy channels you had to be attacking the president. I decided I didn’t want my money going to something I truly disliked.
As we were told by the brave Yuri Bezmenov, the communists have demoralized us.
The low IQ don’t see that they’ve been corrupted.
But watch what happens.
I usually give comedians a break because I have been guilty of making bad jokes when trying to be funny. On occasion, I’ve used very dark humor to break the stress in some bad family situations.
This crap isn’t that. It wasn’t something he said “off the cuff” that fell flat. He wrote it. He thought about it. And he put it into the teleprompter. And he delivered the line and waited for the audience to laugh (and I am sure the laugh track was standing by if the laughs did not come.)
I can’t believe that not a single person raised an eyebrow over this during the vetting process.
That tells you everything you need to know about Disney.
Johnny was a good cat
And of course, the communists have always hidden their fecal content in what’s supposed to be comedy and humor.
Are you suggesting that wisdom and deceipt beats youth and brawn?
Without a laugh track, what would the Kimmel experience bring?
I remember a Carson joke from the Jimmy Carter presidency: “The White House is hosting a formal dinner this weekend. It will be a black sweater event.”
If Conservatives begin to spout insidious garbage promoting violence against Liberals then watch them reverse course in a hurry.
He may have been a Democrat in his private life but was always even-handed with his humor and not hateful or mean-spirited.
He was very smart not to alienate half the country unlike the current crop of late-night douchebags.
I remember seeing a 60 Minutes interview with Johnny where he basically said “if you’re looking to an entertainer like me for political insight, you’re stupid.”
