Sen. John Cornyn is facing renewed scrutiny after a resurfaced video began circulating online, raising fresh questions about his past positions on immigration as his re-election campaign intensifies.
Cornyn, who has aligned himself closely with Donald Trump on the campaign trail, is now drawing criticism from conservatives who argue his record does not match his current messaging—particularly on the issue of amnesty.
The unearthed clip has fueled backlash among Republican voters and added momentum to attacks from his primary challenger, Ken Paxton. Immigration has quickly emerged as a defining issue in the race, with critics pointing to the video as evidence that Cornyn’s past positions may be out of step with the GOP base.

SCOOP In an unearthed video, Senator Cornyn’s team forgot to delete a video from YouTube where Cornyn advocates for amnesty for illegal aliens. It would be a shame if every Republican in Texas sees this before the May 26th runoff. No amnesty!
Speaking at a recent Republican gathering in Grapevine, Paxton questioned Cornyn’s presence on the campaign trail and his connection with voters.
“I saw him when President Trump came to Corpus,” Paxton said. “This whole pretend thing where he’s a Trump guy… which is all fake.”
Paxton also suggested that Cornyn spends the bulk of his time in Washington rather than engaging directly with Texas voters, asking attendees, “What does he do?”
Cornyn’s campaign pushed back, with senior adviser Matt Mackowiak stating that the senator has consistently supported Trump’s agenda and plans to hold at least 25 campaign events in the coming weeks.
The resurfaced video has only intensified an already heated primary battle, as both candidates work to define themselves ahead of the upcoming election.
Despite the controversy, Cornyn maintains a significant financial edge. According to federal filings, he reported more than $8 million cash on hand at the end of the first quarter, compared to Paxton’s $2.6 million.
Meanwhile, Democrats are also preparing for a competitive general election. State Rep. James Talarico, the likely Democratic nominee, reportedly raised tens of millions in recent months and holds nearly $10 million in campaign funds.
With tensions rising and outside scrutiny increasing, the Cornyn-Paxton showdown is shaping up to be one of the most closely watched Republican primaries in the country.

I don’t need much to have me vote for the horny Paxton. Without term limits, I always vote against the incumbent.
Texas please flush that turd Cornyn!!!!
I don’t care about Paxton’s failed marriage or his mistress-he is a great AG, and I’m voting for a senator-not a bishop. The only time Cornholio is ever seen out among commoners here in Texas is when he is at some big city event when he is campaigning for re-election. He is totally oblivious to us rural and small town voters, even in re-lection years...
Trump is on his 3rd marriage.
Something is in the D.C. water. As soon as freshmen are elected, they get sucked into the swamp. It happened to Thune, Ernst, Cornyn and so many others. Term limits is one solution. If it is good enough for the president, why not the Senate and the House?
He was FOR it before he was AGAINST it. If I had to guess, I’d assume the money was on the other side.
Cornyn is too snaked for me.
Concern trolls are best at pretending to be concerned.
If a former senator or representative wrote a ‘tell-all’ book exposing how Washington DC corrupts politicians and bureaucrats, they would make a million dollars. They would have to provide names, dates and methods.
Of course, the author and publisher would probably be sued into oblivion or die unexpectedly but still, it would be a good read.
John Cornyn is another former McConnell acolyte, like Lisa Murkowski, Tim Scott, John Thune, and Thom Tillis.
So what? He wasn’t elected as bishop, either. Bill Clinton was married just once-a paragon of virtue-not! I’ve been married twice-the 1st went to hell after 20 years, the 2nd was happy and lasted until MrT5’s untimely death. Sometimes things just don’t work any more because people’s priorities/ideas of happiness change...
The DC water did not affect Cornholio-he was a Rino neocon from day one-he never supported our issues-he got elected by neocons and ignored everything the voters in this state elected him to support...
“John Cornyn is another former McConnell acolyte, like Lisa Murkowski, Tim Scott, John Thune, and Thom Tillis.”
👍I completely agree.
Y’all gonna love the Trannyrico fella. Now we have steers, queers and Trannyrico trolls.
Get defeated John Boy. You’re RINO stance catches up with you eventually.
I’ve been a Texan since 1974 and have never met a fellow Texan who claimed to have voted for Cornyn.
And Trump is a well known poon hound. That doesn’t matter because he’s a good president.
So where is the clip? What did Cornyn say in the “clip?”
The article is pointless without it. Duh.
It would be great if Cornyn went down.
It might give encouragement to better candidates who feel in big states like Texas you need a lot of money and therefore who has the most money wins.
I don’t know all the particulars but Paxton appears to be a flawed candidate, but clearly the better choice.
And anybody China Mitch opposes would be enough of an endorement to get my vote.
