Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Friday revealed he had undergone treatment for prostate cancer and delayed releasing the results at the peak of U.S. and Israeli military operations against Iran earlier this year.
In a post on the social platform X, Netanyahu said doctors had discovered a malignant tumor at a “very early stage” and that it had not spread “whatsoever.” He said he chose to have “targeted treatment” against the tumor, which required a “few short” follow-up treatments.
“Today, my annual medical report was published. I requested to delay its publication by two months so that it would not be released at the height of the war, in order not to allow the Iranian terror regime to spread even more false propaganda against Israel,” Netanyahu said in the post.
Netanyahu said the follow-up monitoring occurred about a year and a half after a “successful surgery” for an “enlarged benign prostate.” He said doctors discovered a tiny spot less than a centimeter as part of routine medical checkups.
The Israeli prime minister used the announcement as an opportunity to raise awareness of the frequency of prostate cancer.
“The doctors told me that this is very common among men my age, and that there are two options,” he wrote — monitor closely or undergo treatment and remove the problem.
“You already know me. When I’m given information in time about a potential danger, I want to address it immediately. This is true on the national level and also on the personal level.”
Israelis will go to the polls in October as Netanyahu’s approval rating has slipped amid the war with Iran. According to an April 11 survey by the Hebrew University, only 10 percent of Israelis viewed the war against Iran as successful,

The only sign I had was an elevated PSA test, which after the ‘digital exam’ showed that something was going on, followed by the biopsy, which made the digital exam seem like a walk in the park.
Lesson: get checked, delay does you no favors.

I’ll bet the Israeli and/or European version of X is exploding today with wishful thinking of Bibi’s quick demise. Maybe they should not get to excited. This kind of cancer could be rather slow growing.

I was diagnosed on November 26th. My PSA was 35 and my Gleason score was an 8. The largest tumor (I had 4) was only 2mm. I opted for surgery to remove it, which is scheduled for May 4th.
Curious that Bibi’s tumor was almost 10 mm (1cm)
