Thank you very much and God bless you.

I was a big fan of "Storage Wars" so I remember Darryl Sheets well. Why would he off himself? Financial reasons?

The reason why I was a big fan of "Storage Wars" despite the fact that a lot of the stuff "found" in the storage lockers were probably planted there for the show is because that is exactly what I used to do back when I lived in L.A.. It was a lot of fun bidding on storage rooms and finding out what was inside. One time I found a director's chair inside a storage space I bought for $10. I knew it was a director's chair because on the back of the chair it said "DIRECTOR'S CHAIR." This was at a storage bin location on or near Normandie in L.A.. Well, as it turned out just down the street they were filming an episode of "Remington Steele" so I walked over with the chair and sold the director's chair to ...the director. Only in L.A.!

Damn, I only actually just started watching more of this show recentky.

I also found out recently Dave Hester had a stroke some years ago too and was recovering.

So many sisters. So few opportunities for bites...

I used to do the same thing (not on TV) buying storage bins and I can tell you there actually was some feuding between the bidders in real life. And one time it was a slightly rainy day in L.A. which absurdly meant that few people drove on the streets so at one such auction only two people showed up. Me and someone else. And we both quietly agreed to bid only up to $10 and then alternately letting each other “win” the bins.

yeah they spiked the lockers....

IIRC, Antiques Road Show got caught doing that also:

"Well, sir, this object you brought in that looks like an ornate spittoon is actually a 15th century Venetian ceremonial helmet, valued at half a million dollars!"

"OH MY GOSH, I GOT IT FOR FREE, I FOUND IT IN THE ATTIC!"

Sure you did, buddy...

The best auction deals were the Santa Monica Police Dept. unclaimed property auctions. Why? Because the police themselves conducted the auctions and they were TERRIBLE at it. It made me realize why professional fast talking auctioneers are needed. The cops were way too slow with the auctions so the auctions would run for MANY hours. They would start out by auctioning off bicycles in the morning and the auctions would drag late into the afternoons. However, that turned out to be a good thing because most people drifted away early in the afternoon with only a few left later that day. That is why I brought reading material with me to those auctions so I could keep from getting bored as the auctions dragged on and on. Then I would perk up later when few buyers remained and the deals got good. One time I bought a mint condition Gibson ES-175 guitar for just $80.

Watched it for about a year and he was one of the better characters. He and his son found a really big art collection one time and seemed like it was real.

If Dave Hester was actually the major dick he played on the show, he deserved a regular ass kicking.

TOTAL proper jackass

After reality shows became a thing I learned a short while later how staged they are and are about as far from reality as one can get.

A question, since I never watched the show:

After you buy the contents are you obligated to remove all of the contents from the premises? I know there are lots of 10’ x 20’ size units which could take several pickup truck loads to remove.

Yes, you have to remove ALL the contents that day. However, one option is to buy a storage locker there, preferably the one you just one, so you have at least a month to take everything out.

The show is faked and scripted. I don’t watch because of that, so I have no idea who this guy is.

I have no ideas. It is reported that Rene Nezhoda believed it to be an issue of cyberbullying. That doesnt really make sense to be but he would probably know better.

I found a link to what you mentioned about Rene said.

Rene looks old. Its hard to believe the shows I watched were that long ago.
