New NYC Pipeline Will Bring Natural Gas to Millions

Several Trump administration officials helped break ground on a new natural gas pipeline in New York that could be an energy grid saver for millions who have suffered from the impact of stupid Democrat energy policies.

The 2019 New York Climate Act is driving up fuel and energy prices in the blue state and setting it up for rolling blackouts and grid reliability collapse. Obviously, Democrats will never solve the problems they caused, so it is up to the Trump administration to take action, as it is doing. Energy Secretary Chris Wright declared in an April 14 press release, “For decades, poor political choices obstructed the building of energy infrastructure, leading to higher energy costs for millions of Americans. President Trump promised to lower energy costs and to get America building again—that is exactly what the groundbreaking of the NESE pipeline will accomplish.”

Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum explained, “This project alone is expected to lower electricity bills by $6 billion over the next 15 years and stimulate up to $1.8 billion in economic development. That’s a huge win for American families!”

It’s certainly a contrast to the usual energy policy in New York. Last year, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul announced a “$1 billion Sustainable Future Program to accelerate capital projects in New York's transition to a cleaner, greener future.” Translation: Hochul will waste an excessive amount of taxpayer money to benefit no one but herself and her woke cronies, worsening the energy and affordability crisis in New York. And New York City's socialist Mayor Zohran Mamdani has claimed addressing “climate change” is essential to energy policy.

Interestingly, the National Energy Dominance Council and President Donald Trump had to coordinate with Democrats to secure the permits for the New York and New Jersey natural gas project, the Northeast Supply Enhancement (NESE) Pipeline, making the approval that much more remarkable. The Department of Energy (DOE) estimates that the NESE, as an expansion of Williams' Transco pipeline system that crosses New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, will provide an extra daily capacity of 400,000 dekatherms.

New York State is sitting on huge reserves of natural gas in the Marcellus shale. They refuse to exploit the most clean source of energy least nuclear which they oppose also.

Let them freeze in the dark due to total idiocy. I find such most amusing.

Ironically, The Demorats in NY State have outlawed natural gas. All new construction must be electric utilities only. No gas heat, no wood heat, no oil heat.

During Emperor Cuomo’s reign they outlawed drilling for natural gas, which has severely negatively economically impacted so much of the southern tier. We sit right on top of more natural gas than we could ever use, and a few miles south, Pennsylvania reaps the rewards.

NY State is doomed. The NYC scumbags run the whole thing and they have ruined it.

Williams Transco is from my neck of the words. Surprising. Didn't know this is their route.

They’re moving natural gas from south Texas to New York state. I find that impressive.

No wood heat? That’s dumb, because burning wood IS carbon-neutral.

In Massachusetts, a board appointed by Governor Healey has changed who must pay for a new gas hookup to a house. Before, the company that owned the infrastructure paid the +$9,000 cost (and therefore, every user of the infrastructure paid indirectly). Now, the homeowner must pay for it.

One of those Trans-Atlantic high pressure natural gas lines goes through my farm. It’s been there for at least 50 years. Hooked onto it with the backhoe by accident and thought it was a big rock, while digging a ditch to drain the swamp. Luckily I didn’t break open the steel pipe or I wouldn’t be alive today.

NY has nearly a trillion dollars worth of natural gas reserves under foot. Would solve both their energy problems and deficit problems.

Thank goodness. It is about time. We have been harping about this for so long. I guess all it took was a new President. Thank you again President Trump. Now if only NY GOP could get it’s act together and run on making it go smoothly we could get rid of some Dems.

My family’s roots are in the Southern Tier area of Olean, Portville, Bolivar at/near the PA border. Growing up, we saw pumps in people’s yards all over the place.

There are mansions that were built by “oil people” back in the day. Dad knew all the shortcuts from one place to another because they were the old oil roads, and he worked the fields when a young man.

Now ... nothing. It’s very sad. The oil is there; they’re just not allowed to get it. (I have heard that companies are digging in PA, and fracking up to get the NY oil, to add to the large supply PA already has. Don’t know if that’s true.)

“Several Trump administration officials helped break ground on a new natural gas pipeline in New York that could be an energy grid saver for millions who have suffered from the impact of stupid Democrat energy policies.”

Meanwhile, Mamdani had a shovel to help fill in the 100,000th pothole.

How long before New York outlaws the pipeline?

As a state goes, most of New York State is made up of reasonable people. But the State is controlled by the “sophisticated” morons in New York City. And I do mean morons. A similar thing happens in Pennsylvania. The corrupt morons in Philthydelphia have far too much power.
