Donald Trump has deleted a viral post comparing himself to Jesus Christ after it drew accusations of blasphemy from some of his most vocal right-wing supporters.
The President's Truth Social account removed an AI generated image showing him draped in white with a red shawl, placing his hands, glowing with a divine light, on a sick patient in a hospital bed as a soldier, a nurse and others look on in adoration.
The post was shared Sunday evening and, by the following morning, had sparked outrage among many of Trump's own supporters, who objected to his use of Christ's image to promote himself.
Ex-Trump ally and Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene said the post is 'more than blasphemy' and that 'it's an Antichrist spirit.'
Hours before Trump sent out the shocking image, the President attacked Pope Leo, 70, adding: 'If I wasn't in the White House, Leo wouldn't be in the Vatican.'
Conservative commentator Michael Knowles wrote: 'I assume someone has already told him, but it behooves the President both spiritually and politically to delete the picture, no matter the intent.'
Right-wing influencer Riley Gaines said: 'Why? Seriously, I cannot understand why he'd post this. Is he looking for a response? Does he actually think this? Either way, two things are true. 1) a little humility would serve him well 2) God shall not be mocked.' ***
Trump's criticism also drew the ire of right-wing Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni who said it is 'unacceptable.'

A meme too far.
This term has been such a mixed bag and I’m increasingly concerned about him and the team around him. I’ll watch speeches or debates from 2016 and he’s clearly not as sharp as he was. Time comes for all of us. I voted for him 3 times and still think he was the best option but hoping we get to the end of this term without major issues

Unfortunately many supporters are also raising questions.
I don’t like this. He’s been doing too much of this chickening out. A year ago, Trump would have doubled down on the photo.
Don’t forget Fauci and Sotomayor. But that’s not important to have a broader discussion of anti-Christian imagery right now!

And just because Leo is woke in some areas doesn’t justify Trump’s post after he was angry at Leo.
Instead, get back to what MAGA/America First want:
Mass deportations, including hotel and restaurant workers as promised.
$5,000 DOGE checks.
Pay down national debt.
Not 9 countries attached in less than a year and a half - as that is neocon policy.
Certify all DOGE into law. There’s been House CR bills and regular order bills, so no excuse to not do this.
Etc...
Trump Devotion Syndrome people won’t like me saying this, but I have also at times spoken against those who clearly have Trump Derangement Syndrome, so there’s that.
And those pictures were roundly condemned on this forum.
