Trump Defends, Praises Lindsey Graham As 2026 Primary Challenge Intensifies

President Donald Trump announced his endorsement of Republican South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham on Friday, urging Republican voters to back him as he faces a primary challenge. *** “Senator Lindsey Graham is doing a fantastic job. He is running against a LUNATIC named Mark Lynch, who supports perhaps the Worst Congressman in the History of our Country, Thomas Massie, of the Great Commonwealth of Kentucky,” Trump wrote. “I don’t have to go into great detail, but needless to say, Mark Lynch would be a DISASTER for the Republican Party, and Lindsey Graham just, GETS THE JOB DONE. VOTE FOR LINDSEY ALL THE WAY.”

***In March 2025, Trump issued a formal endorsement backing Graham’s re-election, praising his work on behalf of South Carolina and highlighting his support for core Republican priorities. Trump credited Graham with efforts to advance tax cuts, strengthen border security, support the military and veterans, and push for fiscal restraint*** “Senator Lindsey Graham has my Complete and Total Endorsement for Re-Election — HE WILL NOT LET YOU DOWN. Everyone in South Carolina should help Lindsey have a BIG WIN next year!” Trump wrote.

Graham took an active, behind-the-scenes role pushing the U.S. toward military action against Iran by working closely with foreign officials and intelligence sources. He traveled repeatedly to Israel, where he met with members of the country’s intelligence agency and gathered information that he later brought back to Washington. *** They’ll tell me things our own government won’t tell me,” Graham told the Wall Street Journal.

Graham reportedly used that information to lobby Trump directly, including through private meetings and informal conversations, while coordinating with leaders such as Benjamin Netanyahu and Mohammed bin Salman. He advised foreign leaders how to better influence Trump and helped align regional backing for potential military action.

Trump talking like this about Linda Graham is not what I voted for.

It’s comical that we have a U.S. Senator who should be registered as a foreign lobbyist under federal law.

Donald Trump Jr. does not share his dad’s opinion of Linda.

He correctly despises Lady Graham’s infatuation with all foreign wars.

who supports perhaps the Worst Congressman in the History of our Country, Thomas Massie

Trump lived only a few blocks from Bella Abzug's district. He has been very close to far worse congressmen than Massie. And frankly, I have learned to take lightly endorsements between candidates. They are not always a predictor of performance. I learned that because I wrongly deprecated a certain Republican presidential candidate in 2016, because he had donated to Ted Kennedy's campaign.

It would be very nice to read your source(s) on this. Thanks.

Deporting the illegals is why i voted for him and that has all but gone down to a trickle.

As long as our laws incentivize illegal immigration, walls a deportations won’t stop it.

Donald Trump Jr. said this in an interview with Tucker Carlson years ago, before Tucker descended into his bizarre current persona.

By the way, why is Lindsey Graham such a constant presence on Sean Hannity’s program? It’s beyond annoying.

Bullcrap…

“As of April 2026, data indicates that U.S. deportations have surged, with total removals since the start of the administration exceeding 622,000 and over 100,000 Afghan nationals deported between October 2022 and March 2026. The administration’s goal is to reach 1 million annual deportations in 2026.”

On anther thread, you were referencing Politico from 2022. Now you reference Politico from 2016.

"Politics is the art of the possible," said Otto von Bismarck in 1867.

What was possible in 2026 was not what was possible in 2022, and what is possible today is yet another.

We could have had a Harris-Walz administration if enough Republicans had only been heeded.

"A host of prominent Republicans have also voiced their support for Harris and rebuked Trump in the race.

"These include more than 100 former members of Congress and national security officials from previous Republican administrations who signed a letter earlier in September calling Trump "unfit to serve again" as president.

"Those who signed the letter include former Illinois congressman Adam Kinzinger, Olivia Troye, a former homeland security and counter-terrorism adviser to ex-vice president Mike Pence, and former CIA and FBI director William Webster."

Additionally: Mike Pence, Jeff Flake, Nancy Kassebaum, Sandy Praeger, Dan Miller, Mickey Edwards, Liz Cheney and Dick Cheney, Jimmy McCain, Stephanie Grisham, Geoff Duncan, John Giles, Robin Shaw, and many more.

Source: Full List of Republicans Endorsing Kamala Harris as Trump Dealt Four Blows Newsweek, 29 September 2024.

People and their endorsements..... In this case, Republicans and their endorsements. So many wanted Harris-Walz.

So Otto von Bismarck, yes, but also let's recall Warner's "Politics make strange bedfellows.”
