Trump did not simply follow Bibi's recommendations. He was fully briefed from the Pentagon and intel communities.
He did have an open and productive dialogue with his entire war cabinet, who each gave informed assessments.
And, finally, President Trump, as always, understood leverage—and then, when he made his decision, how to use it.
This is how the White House is supposed to work. They are not supposed to sit over at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and do whatever the press or the pundits or cable or podcast hosts or global elites want them to do.
The president is supposed to act in the long-term interest and security of the United States—not in his own short-term political interest.
So, this is tough. It's complicated work. But he and his team—and I can tell you this because I have seen it firsthand—they work really hard. And yeah, sometimes they have to course-correct. And sometimes they have to replace people when they believe they're not well-suited for their jobs. It's okay.
And everyone—and I mean everyone—is held to the highest standards.
So, when you read this *New York Times* story, and I urge you to do so, compare it for a moment to the account of how the Biden White House worked. And I'm telling you, there is no comparison.
Biden would not even have understood what these Trump advisers were saying. Obama actually would have understood it, but he wouldn't have wanted to take the political risk on going into Iran. And George W. Bush? Well, he probably would have just agreed with everything Bibi said.
But not Trump. He vacuums up the information, he peppers people with questions, he thinks about it, he makes the call.

The Left desperately wants to paint this war as a loss. Given the amount of numskulls here repeating their narratives the effort is working. Fortunately you can’t fool all the people all the time especially the people here on Free Republic who with a few loud and insistent exceptions are not fooled.
That’s the importance of a well-seasoned, successful CEO in the POTUS role. Not a life-long beltway caretaker who hid out in the Senate for decades. Trump has never been in the one-of-a-hundred club where you can sit back and bloviate without being responsible for anything.
