A Cincinnati man was arrested after standing outside a Franklin Township home with a knife, threatening to kill a man “in the name of Allah,” according to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.
Anthony Tyrone Jessie Long, 23, was taken into custody and charged with aggravated menacing and aggravated trespassing after deputies were called to a home just before 1:30 a.m. Sunday, April 5, on reports of a suspicious person, records from the sheriff’s office state.
A woman told dispatchers that a man was walking around the front of the property and knocking on the door while holding a knife and threatening to kill her husband “in the name of Allah,” before chasing after the couple’s daughter, who had just arrived in the driveway.
The daughter was able to get away, and the suspicious person fled in a car.
When deputies got to the scene, the victims showed surveillance footage of the incident.
About 15 minutes later, Clearcreek police were dispatched to a traffic stop near Bunnell Hill and State Route 122 to a caller who said they were being followed by a vehicle that tried to ram them.
The driver who called 911 led the vehicle to a Clearcreek police station, where officers detained the man, identified as Long, who matched the description of the suspicious person wanted for threatening the Franklin Township family.
Deputies returned to the Franklin Township residence, where the family showed them a video of the man with a knife matching the knife found in Long’s possession.
Long was taken to the Warren County Jail, where he is being held on a $1,500 cash only bond for the Clearcreek incident in addition to a $75,000 bond for the Franklin Township incident.
