It’s the “DEPRAVED’ kind of passion for equality” that he points out is destructive. And he defines what that is - as opposed to the “MANLY AND LAWFUL kind of equality”.
Or in other words, we all have a yearning to keep up with the Joneses, it’s how we go about it that matters. Whether we try to achieve that through diligence and hard work, or whether to get it by stealing and destroying what the Joneses have.

Another thing to be aware of is that the Left does not have principles. They pretend to, but what they really have is GOALS. They’ll abandon a principle the moment it no longer serves the Narrative (women’s rights matter until it clashes with trans rights, for example, or we should always believe women who level sexual harassment claims, until they do it against a DNC favorite). They speak passionately about principles, but they are like protest signs that they pick up and put down easily, depending on which sign advances the goal.
