Here’s a comparable situation that tells us why the Iranian negotiator can’t give us what we want. I was watching an elected woman Democrat politician discuss why the Democrats had just taken an electoral shellacking and discussing what she thought they needed to do to recover. She was on stage with a huge, blue-jawed man dressed as the ugliest woman you ever saw. Among other things she opined, “What need to do is simply stop talking about, stop emphasizing divisive things like trans rights.” The man behind her went ape-shit, shouting and behaving like he was about to kill her. She stood in pigeon-toes, open mouth shock while he sprayed spittle in her face.
Now picture the Iranian negotiator. He lives in a culture where if I consider myself a righteous believer, then by sharia law, I am empowered to instantly kill someone I think is not following the law as I see it. It took Western culture a thousand years to progress beyond this point and even back then, the number of people in a culture who could order any peasant killed on a whim was comparatively small.

I do not trust the UN. I fully expect the UN to be co-opted by Tehran if they haven’t been already. They will then feign that a deal is close with Iran if only the US stops all their activity. This would then go on for weeks while China and Russia supply them with arms and intel and Tehran tunnels deeper underground.
