Iran on Monday rejected US President Donald Trump’s threats, claiming the US suffered a humiliation in the war and calling the President “delusional".
A spokesman for Iran’s Armed Forces Central Headquarters said, “The rude, insolent, and baseless threats of the delusional US President will not make up for the humiliation and disgrace of the United States in the West Asia region."
“The Strait of Hormuz will never return to its previous state, especially for the US and Israel," the IRGC Navy Commander declared, as quoted in a social media account representing the IRGC Navy Command.
“The IRGC Navy is completing the operational preparations of the plan issued by Iranian officials for a new order in the Persian Gulf," the Commander declared.

Lights out!
Night night.
Tell all Iranians to move 200 miles from the shores of the Strait Gays of Whoremuz and then start carpet bombing the place into oblivion!
The IRGC Navy?????
Eliminate all bridges and roads that lead to the coast.
Sounds like Iran hired Baghdad Bob.
I like it when apocalyptic 5x daily head bumpers call others delusional.
Personally I feel pretty good about the United States right now, Mr. Mullah.
Particularly our military and our President.
Enjoy your 72 virgin goats! :)
“Eliminate all bridges and roads that lead to the coast.”
Place anti-shipping missiles 5 miles inland? Fortunately coastal mountains block the line of sight that Iran missiles need.
Fine.
Blow the shit out of them.
“...Sounds like Iran hired Baghdad Bob...”
Ummmm....More like Valerie Jarrett and the mighty odongo.
As I have said for weeks, these guys NEVER negotiate under pressure, and they have plenty of time. They don’t care if 90 million of their people get no electricity. Actually they hope Trump follow through with his threats - since they use their own citizens as human shields. They believe it will strengthen their cause.
I don’t think we truly understand what we are dealing with here. Bombings from the air will accomplish nothing. We will just deplete our ammunition.
The only way to win against Iran is to invade them.
Or maybe taking control of Kharg island which 90% of Irans oil exports originate from.
Only a flesh wound!
Unwise. Iran has not way of stopping the US. Sure, they will get some drone strikes and similar action, but in return for what? Absolute devastation! Really unwise move. They should accept they got hammered, call it a day, open the Strait, sign whatever agreement is put before them, and hope President Trump is in a good mood and lets them be. Unless what Iran wants is to be a larger version of Yemen.
I would stop ALL ships from entering or exiting the strait until Iran opens it to EVERY ship. Trump could handle the pressure from the international crowd, but could Iran? Plus it would stop their income.
“O Lord, bless this Thy Hand Grenade that, with it, Thou mayest blow Thine enemies to tiny bits in Thy mercy.”
If what you say is true (and I actually don’t disagree with most of what you say), isn’t a land invasion of Iran exactly what the IRGC would want? Right now, there is absolutely nothing Iran can do. Their airforce is gone, their navy is gone, their air defense is massively depleted (no real systems left outside Manpads, and even though those can get lucky as we recently saw, it is very different from a proper IADS), many of their ballistic missiles are gone, and as we’ve seen from Russia and Ukraine, drone salvos are effective but not game changing.
However, their army is still intact, and in case of an invasion they’d likely melt into civilian centers. They have had a lot of time to see what worked and/or didn’t work in Iraq, and they know armored columns of tanks heading against the US Army/Marines is inviting an easy/fast death. So, they will shift into insurgency tactics. It was the IRGC that taught the Iraqi militia/terrorists/insurgents about things like EFP-type IEDs, which killed many Americans in Iraq. They know how to bleed into civilian centers, to ensure that it is as difficult as possible to distinguish between an IRGC soldier and a random military-aged male. The Iranians have already started recruiting children because (1) a bullet fired by a child will kill just as easily as one fired by you/me and (2) if the child gets killed there will be a camera to ensure the world sees.
Importantly, Iran has no solution against a B-2, or F-22, or a Virginia-class SSN prowling off their coast. Zero chance.
However, a dude hiding in the dark with a Dragunov sniper rifle has a shooter’s chance against a US Marine on patrol.
Bombing Iran from the air will not result in regime change. I fully agree with that. Anyways, Iran already murdered between 40,000-50,000 of the most ardent protestors, so much of that fire is out. Also, even the most anti-regime Iranian will not overthrow their government if it seems like aligning with Israel.
However, bombing from the air will mean that Iran’s ability to militarily project power is significantly hampered. Sure, they can close the Strait of Hormuz and send drones to their neighbors, but anytime they have any real nuclear or ballistic movement they can get blmbed.
But boots in the ground is exactly what Iran would want, it would be (that word) a ‘quagmire’ in every sense of the word, it would be President Trump’s tar baby, we could lose the midterms as people may be ok with aerial bombardment but I doubt even in FR people are calling for a ground invasion, and (looking at the results in Iraq and Afghanistan) it looks like an even bigger waste of money and resources than bombing from the air.
My $0.02. President Trump authorizing a ground invasion would be a blessing for Iran (and for the Dems). He’s already hammered them hard. Hammer them some more, then call it off …and anytime Iran raises its head hammer again.
Problem is if Iran targets de-salination plants around the gulf of US allies Qatar UAE Kuwait Bahrain...etc.
