Hunkered down in a mountain-top ravine, armed only with a pistol, and with gun-toting tribesmen bearing down on him, the US Airforce colonel probably had slim hopes for his survival.

However, after what is being called the 'most daring' Special Forces rescue operation in US history, he is now safely out of Iran.

It took hundreds of Special Forces commandos, a CIA drone operation, and some lateral thinking to avert last-minute disaster.

Step-by-step, this is how the rescue operation unfolded.

A brave F-15 airman was rescued during an audacious mission involving hundreds of SEAL Team 6 commandos and deceiving Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) intel as he battled for his life atop a 7,000-foot ridge.

The unidentified airman, who President Donald Trump has described as a ‘brave warrior’, got trapped behind enemy lines after the fighter jet was shot down over a remote area of Iran on Friday.

A pilot who was with him safely ejected the aircraft and was rescued by two military helicopters that same day, but the airman remained missing.

Amazing, isn’t it?
The democrats are worthless, anti-American parasites.

Personally I don’t give a damn how they did it. They did it. We don’t leave our people behind. PERIOD. That is such a morale boost, you know, asphalt , gravel, or concrete, I got back up. Next mission, they got my back. That gives you a feeling the “ brakes are off”. My commanders are on board. It beats the crap out of Carter, Clinton, Obama, or Biden. Regan or Trump are the only men I would feel good serving under. IMO Carter was a effing joke.

You really need to study up. He is not an Airmen. He’s an Officer. A trained officer. Look up SERE school , butthead. I’m not saying NCO’s don’t do SERE training. If you meet the man on base and you are both in uniform and you’re an nco you salute.

I’m just glad they got him out, and nobody was killed.

I have to say that the level of 3rd world bozoism and anti-Americanism on twitter is off the charts.

The disappointment when they rescued this airman and didn’t have any losses was pretty obvious. Almost all the Canadians, many in Europe... obviously the entire 3rd world...

I think this whole war is a mistake, and they should stop it as soon as possible, but I definitely want the USA to get their guys back.

An “airman” is primarily a member of an air force, typically an enlisted person of low rank (e.g., U.S. Air Force) or an aviator/pilot. It also refers to individuals involved in operating, maintaining, or repairing aircraft.

“Airman” is to the Air Force what “soldier” is to the Army. You would not address an Army officer as “hey soldier”, but he certainly is a soldier

This War was not a mistake it was a necessary risk that was taken to downgrade, and hopefully destry their nuclear weapons program and weaken their ability to continue to co trol the people of Iran so they could overthrow the regime and achieve objective #1.

Stop listening to the obvious trolls!

Reuters is reporting a peace deal brokered and proposed by Pakistan which has Iran forgoing nuclear weapons and getting sanctions relief and unfreezing of assets.

So we shall see.

Reuters is paywalled but here is a financial tv anchor reading the major details.

So Iran has responded that they are studying the peace plan, but they reject an immediate re-opening of the Hormuz

Glad the airman is out, but I dare say the Son Tay pow camp raid, was a bit more daring.

My first thought as well.

Not denigrating this at all of course but just because it’s been a while that we have had to do it doesn’t mean we haven’t done it before.

The raid on that POW camp was one hell of a operation that is kinda hard to beat IMHO but YMMV.
