BITE THE BULLET : USPS loses an actual Uzi sub-machine gun in the mail – ‘and nobody’s admitting anything’
The U.S. Sun ^ | 4-3-2026 | Forrest McFarland

A MACHINE gun mailed with the United States Postal Service has been missing for weeks – and the sender fears it could be used in a shooting.

Firearms dealer Steve Thompson opted for top security mail service when he sent the Israeli nine millimeter Uzi sub-machine gun in February, but it still disappeared just days later.

He shipped it from Portage, Ohio, where his business Adco Firearms is based to a buyer in Florida on February 4.

USPS tracking information shows it was moved to Pontiac, Michigan before arriving at a facility in Detroit on February 6, NBC affiliate WDIV reported.

There, the package was left to process – but it never made it out...

Is anyone else sick of mail theft? Isn’t it time to pass laws that the theft of mail be treated as felony stealing with minimum imprisonment of 1 year in hard labor jail? Enough of this.

Mail theft of anything sent via USPS is already a felony. It just has to be investigated and prosecuted.

I didn’t know ADCO moved, they used to be in Sylvania. They do good work, with a pretty good turn around time.

Not another unhappy Michigan post. I already put up with terrorists storing explosive stuff in a parked UHaul place vehicle in Inkster, Rashida Tlaib denouncing the US, a candidate saying he wants to spare the feelings of Dearborn residents who are “sad” to mourn the loss of the Ayatollah and a man crashing a truck into a long hallway in a synagogue resulting in hundreds of young Jewish children gasping from inhaling black smoke from his burning truck after his plan to shoot them was thwarted by a shot from a security guard.

Funny how bills arrive perfectly but what someone cares about gets lost.

When a $60 item said to have been “delivered” to my home did not arrive, I was told in person outside by the woman investigating that her phone showed the GPS location of the “delivery” was about 10 feet from my mail box, “proving” the crooked woman who had already been reported for stealing packages on her route had “delivered” my package. They refused my complaints after that. I figure it’s like gambling now, sometimes to win and sometimes you lose.

“Went missing in Detroit - go figure...”

Soon, every new luxury car will have them. The trigger will be set up at the dimmer switch and will include laser sighting. Great to break up the monotony of a long run or slow moving vehicles. The Amish are in big trouble.

You do see a lot of complaints about USPS on various firearms forums, but most seem to be about delays, rather than thefts. I've tracked quite a few packages that got within 100 miles of being delivered, only to be sent on a thousand mile 'vacation trip' by some USPS employee, which delayed delivery a week or more. The only one of my USPS packages that actually disappeared went missing in Chicago - again, go figure...

Maybe ICE will be making a few visits there.
They are watching these enemy combatants.
ICE picked up Hamideh Soleimani Afshar and her daughter in CA.

Transfer of guns can only be done safely,
if done person to person.
The second you involve the government consider
it like tossing the gun into the deep ocean.
Face it; our government wants us disarmed
so they can do as they please. Iran mowed
down thousands that were protesting.
If you think our Democrat run governments
are any different you are a fool.
They arrest a few in protests here,
but they have usually damaged property,
not your opinions.
Government doesn’t shoot them because
they know the American people can shoot
back.

This is the plus/minus of USPS x-raying the mail. Some super saw that x-ray and said, “Mine!”. End of story.

I ordered a cell phone that was being delivered by FedEx and disappeared in the Chicago sorting facility. The seller sent me another one.

If the packaging also served as advertising for Joe’s Machineguns, that might be a clue as to how the package caught someones attention.

I’ve seen that happen too. Stuff is in this state, then abruptly it is sent 1500 miles away for no apparent reason. Before finally making its way to the destination.

It’s now common for a small padded envelope sent “Express 2-3 day” to take 7-8 days. This is from the Midwest to Florida. Of course it’s the Post Office so you have no recourse. They tell you in the small print that it’s not a ‘guarantee.’

At this point it is blatant false advertising. Any real business doing this would be sued or investigated BY the government for misleading practices.

Every time I talk to an anti-2nd Amendment liberal who rails against "automatic weapons" in the hands of criminals, I simply point out to them how hard it is to obtain one and once you do, it's going to cost you thousands of dollars.

The cost of this Uzi is a classic example

Thompson, who sold the gun for $25,000

Yes:

"Thompson, who sold the gun for $25,000 and insured it for $20,000, had sent the package as Registered Mail, meaning it was traveling under the most secure service.

"It was expected to be protected by safes, cages, sealed containers, locks, and keys, the outlet reported.

"The baffled sender filed a claim with the USPS but was bizarrely denied twice until the service finally agreed to pay the insured amount..."

In my experience, the USPS folks in the Denver, Colorado area seem to be the worst offenders - they’ve sent my packages on “vacation” to Atlanta, Boise, Seattle, Salt Lake City, and Tucson (IIRC). A retired post master on one forum said it was referred to as ‘giving a package a ride’, because it hadn’t been sorted properly by the end of the shift, so an employee just threw it on a random out-bound truck. Makes you wonder how many millions of dollars are wasted hauling packages on unnecessary round trips to random destinations across the country...
