Another American plane involved in the war in Iran crashed in the Persian Gulf today, according to US officials cited by The New York Times.
According to the Times, the A-10 Warthog went down near the Strait of Hormuz at around the same time that an F-15E was shot down over Iran.
The report says the pilot from the A-10 was safely rescued.

Geez, this just shows that Iran still has plenty of missiles to strike anyone that gets near the Strait 2-3 weeks to end this my butt its gonna go a lot longer than that
There’s an internet rumor that Russia sent two S-500 export restricted air defense missile systems to Iran just a few days ago.

My guess is that it was a mechanical problem.

Do you know how many troops we lost just training for D-Day? I’m sure your advice would have been to scrub the Normandy invansion.
A Blackhawk was also badly damaged as well...so a 3rd.
Iran has no incentive to stop the war until the Midterms. They know that they’ll get a better deal once the Democrats take over Congress.
Now instead of one Blackhawk badly damaged, two were heavily damaged.
There may not be anyone running Iran by the midterms.
Those A-10s are tough ... I wonder what they hit it with.
And to think that it was a couple of weeks ago that Trump lifted sanctions on 100,000,000 barrels of Russian oil.

We had an entire group of pilots held hostage in Hanoi after getting shot down over North Vietnam They were held for up to 7 years.
But that was the Johnson administration. Heck, Jane Fonda sided with the enemy in country and she still parades her seditious self out on camera

How do you figure? Took the U.S. nine months to capture Saddam Hussein, and that was with the country fully occupied. Iran is also four times larger by land area than Iraq. Plenty of government officials can wait it out, including the current Supreme Leader, who clearly they have no idea where he is and his status.

How would they have got them incountry and why waste them on an F15 and an A10 when you are being swarmed night and day by F22, F35, B1, B2, and B52 aircraft?
We have no information that it was shot down. Yet.
Well they still have plenty of missiles so its possible, but I still say the one in Iran was mechanical til proven otherwise
