Serious disagreements have emerged between Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian and IRGC chief-commander Ahmad Vahidi over how to manage the war and its damaging impact on people’s livelihoods and the economy, sources with knowledge of the matter told Iran International.
Pezeshkian has criticized the approach of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps regarding escalating tensions and continuing attacks on neighboring countries, warning about the economic consequences of the situation, according to the sources who spoke on condition of anonymity.
He has stressed that without a ceasefire, Iran’s economy could face total collapse within three weeks to one month, the sources said.
As the war enters its fifth week, its economic effects are increasingly visible. Reports from major cities indicate that many ATMs are out of cash, not functioning, or physically inaccessible, while online banking services for several major banks, including Bank Melli, are periodically disrupted.
Government employees have told Iran International that salaries and benefits for large segments of workers have not been paid regularly over the past three months.
In February, before the outbreak of the ongoing war, average inflation for basic necessities reached triple digits, estimated between 105% and 115%.

As far as I know, the IRGC runs the war, and also runs the economy (oil, electricity, etc.). I’m not at all sure what Iran’s president runs.
if he runs the Army, he has a chance, otherwise he’s SOL
Referring to Iranian internal politics, it seems prudent to rely on the folks with the guns, if you are looking for someone to handle negotiations of any sort...
Iran’s economy collapsed in January. That was the cause of the protests beginning.
So; how long until Reza , the Shaw, is put in power and it’s Persia again?
Maybe if the US & Israel armed the people, we would see the end of the Mullahs.
General Ahmad Vahidi, who was appointed as commander-in-chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, has been eliminated.
next....

Source? I know it has been reported as a rumor but is there a SOLID source for this?
It took a nosedive. The word “collapse” is used far too often on the web and in the media.
Nonetheless, the one thing that gives me slight pause about this war is that with all its problems, including major water supply problems, Iran might have collapsed anyway, later. Say, the drought resumed with a vengeance for 6 months...
Far more likely though is that the IRGC and Basij would just shoot their way out of it. Trump had to go with the odds.

All the more reason for us to continue to push and push and push, ends to destroy anything that allows their economy to function, so that they collapse as soon as possible. We need to be rid of this fanatical and tyrannical regime. The amount of good that would be produced over the next couple of decades by doing thisthroughout the world is immeasurable.
