Republicans at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference largely rallied behind U.S. strikes on Iran on Thursday, backing President Donald Trump on an issue that has dented his wider approval ratings and could jeopardize the party's prospects in the November midterm elections. Speakers ranging from a prominent evangelist to a former Trump adviser and Iranian political activists took to the stage at the conservative gathering in Grapevine, Texas, to argue the moral case for the war before supporters of Trump's Make America Great Again movement.

Tucker started backpedaling on his Facebook Page today. He’s been getting no love there. What a tool!

Bush began his Iraq War with far greater approval than Trump with his Iran War. Congress voted to support Bush, and a large majority of the American people supported Bush.

Yet much of that public support dried up for Bush.

Trump began his war with far less support. How long before what support he has dries up?

Bush had 9/11 under his watch.

That's the reason his war was more popular.

That doesn't change the fact that his war was more popular -- and then plummeted in popularity.

The point is: If the Iraq War's high approval plummeted, how much lower and faster will the Iran War's meager approval plummet?

Not surprising actually. The Iranians have started attacking Qatar (damaged 17% of their LNG capacity) so Tucker has probably received new talking points from his benefactors...

I remember it all too well. I took it personal. Some people didn’t want to talk about it but I did. I still can’t understand why some of them seemed to think it was “taboo” to bring it up in public.

Before 9/11, GWB infamously had Ted Kennedy write the new Education Bill...and I knew at that moment GWB was just another leftwing RINO.

History has proved that observation.

Trump isn’t Bush. Who knows, polymath? Trump is doing the RIGHT THING in spite of the press and TDSers like you jawboning against him. Maybe he’s totally flipped the script? Maybe when the dust settles Trump, like Churchill, will see his stock INCREASE in the unimportant “approval ratings”? Maybe history will regard PDJT as the GOAT?

Bush had 911 and a lot of lies from the “Intelligence Agencies” talking about the WMDs that weren’t there - the same agencies that worked with Hillary to gin up the Russia Collusion BS.

Trump has 47 years of constant terror and threats to back him up - and show where weak-kneed appeasers got us - and the absolute knowledge of nuclear materiel and aspirations...not to mention the “surprise” that they actually did have long-range ballistic missiles even though the “word on the street” was that they were only in the developmental stage.

Any support for what Trump is doing that “dries up” is because morons can’t grasp reality. The Congress, like the Law, is an ass.

Yes, and Iran help to engineeer the turning of that war by their spending in the US Congress, particularly the Democrats, and in supplying deadly weapons to the Iraqis (deadly anti-personnel improvised weapons that killed hundreds of US Soldiers). The Iranians have a lot of American blood on their hands and they need to be eliminated (the IRGC), or else they will rise up again. I saw the US give up in Vietnam because they would not finish the job. All of us who served were frustated by the lack of resolve in their “leaders”, and nothing has changed in this war from then. Congress is being bought off by foreign interests. Finish the job!

It is troublesome that a single person can have this country start a war against another country by executive fiat.
