BRANFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — What’s known to some as “gas station heroin” will officially be illegal in Connecticut to manufacture or sell.
Kratom has been described by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as more potent than morphine and, at times, addictive like opioids.
Starting Wednesday, Kratom will be classified as a Schedule 1 controlled substance, meaning it’s going to be banned from gas stations, convenience stores, vape shops, and other businesses in Connecticut.

Nor have I.
Already banned last year in Florida.
Additive stimulant. Plant from SE ASIA.
That’s all I know.
It's a state crime, not a Federal one, so expect none of the major players to get caught, and expect cash payoffs to politicians who pushed for this law.
It makes Superman weak.
Feel like I see signs for it EVERYWHERE as soon as I cross into Missouri. Many other states don’t allow it.
I see Kratom advertised on the window of vape shops but never had any idea of what it was. Doesn’t sound harmless. If you’re on Kratom and Ozempic, I would assume you’re in real trouble.
kratom, (Mitragyna speciosa), large evergreen tree of the coffee or madder family, the leaves of which function as a drug when ingested. Native to Southeast Asia, kratom has been used for centuries in traditional medicine and recreationally. Kratom is reported to produce stimulant-like effects when taken in low doses, and opioid-like sedative effects in high doses and can have side effects such as seizures, hallucinations, and liver damage. However, scientific data on kratom usage is limited, and further research is needed to fully understand its effects. In 2019 the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a warning against kratom use, stating that it has no approved medical applications.

My wife died five years ago today. She was in a great deal of pain for the last year at least that we tried everything, including kratom, which was legal in FL at the time, but it had no effect whatsoever. I ended up throwing out what was left.
I thought it said kraken!
Correct. People are having to go to rehab over this fake sh*t.
It must be popular. It takes up a ton of shelf space in Virgina gas stations.
Ba-dum ching!
Kryptonite now illegal in CT.
As reported in the Daily Planet by Jimmy Olsen.
Drug of choice for manic depressives?
LOL!
Release the Kratom!
Why would this cr@p even be sold - in gas stations/anywhere - to begin with?
Speaking of which, I think I’m over-caffeinated this morning.
