New Jersey Legislation Targeting Energy Companies Will Hurt Consumers
Watts Up With That ^ | 3/25/26 | Marc Brown

Energy affordability is on the ballot this year. Unfortunately, extremists in Trenton are once again pushing a bill in the New Jersey State House that will hurt consumers wallets with no tangible benefit—except to line their own pockets. New Jerseyans must see through the smokescreen and realize this burdensome and disruptive legislative policy will chase companies out of the state and cost New Jersey families high-paying jobs, tax revenues and an affordable and reliable energy supply.

As of Jan 1 2026, all new homes and buildings with less than 7 floors in NYS must be totally electric.

This isn't right...in fact it's stupid...

Raises the price of new homes by thousands...

The alternative is gas and how many tall buildings usually have a gas distribution system? Makes no sense other than to look like they are compromising on something to satisfy the LIVs and to make everyone electric-dependant.

Oil companies, when sued, should plead “No Contest” and pay their fine then withdraw from the state that sued and prohibit their products from being sold there. Run ads there to explain why gas, diesel, electricity, and other products are triple the price, if they can be found at all, and wait for the people to rid the state of Watermelon (Green on the outside, RED through and through) Socialists.

“Run ads there to explain...”

As long as the Left continues unchallenged, they will continue to win. Back in the Hillary-care days, the Insurance companies ran ads that effectively stopped her cold. Perhaps energy companies could learn from that.

I’m going to say that energy companies have very long memories going back to the oil shocks of the 70s when they were Public Enemy Numbers 1 through 10. Their impulses are to donate to public broadcasting and other leftwing causes and keep their heads down whenever they become the focus again.

Wow what a nightmare. This is what the entire country was going to get if Harris won and it’s all based on a lie

As the Dims manage to get stupid legislation enacted, they simply get emboldened to enact even worse legislation. They will not end until they have placed everything in a crisis and have more legislation to “solve” each of them.

F’en Jersey wants to go green but suck real energy out of the grid but not add to it. Screw em. PA needs a “protect PA grid” law that penalizes states that don’t add to the grid. Otherwise we here in PA pay for their green crap.

Barack Obama stated that under his proposed cap-and-trade system, “electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket”.

I don’t see a problem. It’s all working as planned.
