China Is About to Lose Its Cuban Military Bases
The Gatestone Institute ^ | 3/24/2026 | Gordon Chang

Declassified intelligence showed that Chinese signals-intelligence collection facilities had been operating in Cuba since at least 2019.

"China and Cuba are negotiating to establish a new joint military training facility on the island, sparking alarm in Washington that it could lead to the stationing of Chinese troops and other security and intelligence operations just 100 miles off Florida's coast." — The Wall Street Journal, June 20, 2023.

President Donald Trump acted before the Chinese could base missiles in Cuba.

I am so late to the party, I had no idea this was going on.

All I have to say is "Go, Trump, Go!"

The Castros are not as convertible as they used to be.

No new wars. No endless wars. It doesn’t concern us. Trump promised no boots…

Let’s hear the whining!

Trump is ending a hot war started by radical Islam, joining the fight against imperialistic Russia, and stepping up an ongoing Cold War with China to prevent a hot war.

The big one is China. He has never shied away from promising to deal with China.

None of this should surprise MAGA let give cry to betrayal.

I don’t believe Lourdes ever shut down.

I don’t think the chinee want the Cubans sucking off their petroleum teat.

Now there is a memory— in the form of a word play! Good one!

Castro Convertible furniture company was a Cuban American owned company. Iirc the manufacturing was done in Ocala, FL in Marion county where the owner and then his widow lived. Mrs. Castro in her later years used to cruise the East coast of Fl in her husband’s yacht with the company logo a “convertible couch” on the smokestack. That was a long time ago. Mrs. Castro was a fixture of conservative politics nationally and in FL.

Yes— the “Castros” (Fidel anyway, Raul the paedo is still alive and old) are definitely not as convertible. One wonders where, who and if their accounts at Banco de Cuba (in Spain and in Switzerland) are accessed, and how much is there. They stole everything from the peasants they created on a prison plantation island.

Most people are unaware of USN activities in that part of the Atlantic. The ccp is sure to be salivating over a regional base in Cooba.

The ChiComs should also be losing all of their Chinese military bases . . .

Considering that they (China) have bought up land surrounding military bases all over the USA, does it really matter?

I remember Castro Convertible furniture. That was back when Florida was Florida and not southern NY.

This is one more proof that Venezuela was about chi-com drug running, chicom oil stealing and chi-com bases on Cuba in the swap for Venezuelan oil shipments. No more shipments, no more oil.. and.. voila! No more chi-Com bases.

A brilliant direct clean sweep of Chicoms from S. America, Venezuela and Cuba in two strokes. We are shutting them down and none too soon.

Oh yes, couple of other items— Panama Canal cleared of chinese troops/oligarchs running the Hutchison-Whampoa controlled entrances to the Channel. One of the first things Rubio and Hegseth did in 2025 in prep for Jan. 3rd Maduro. Really quite well done!

Next should be getting the container ship port Chi-Coms own in Nassau, Bahamas turned over to Bahamas and other investors. Kick the chi-coms out. Biden was never going to do this- and in fact in many quarters it is thought that the Baltimore bridge destruction was to put that port out of action.

"All we needed was a new potus."

Somehow, the Atlantic City Mogul made a roulette wheel that landed on 45 and 47.

America has been winning ever since.

Boy howdy! These career politicians in the DC swamp sure hate an outsider who shines light on their slimy scales. OF the People, BY the People, and FOR the People is the exact opposite of the communists on Capitol Hill.

Here is the story of Bernie and Theresa Castro. Wish I could find a photo of the yacht with the logo on the smokestack- she used to dock it seasonally in St. Augustine.
Misspoke, Bernie Castro was born in Sicily. Not Cuba.

Good article. Thanks for posting.

FTA -- "Why is the U.S. doing this? For no reason other than its dislike of the Cuban regime. Cuba poses no threat to the U.S." -- Jostein Hauge, Cambridge University

Dr Jostein Hauge is a political economist and an Assistant Professor in Development Studies at the Department of Politics and International Studies (POLIS). He is also an Official Fellow of Magdalene College. Prior to his post at the University of Cambridge, he was an LSE Fellow in International Political Economy at the London School of Economics and Political Science. He has also worked as a Research Associate at the Centre for Science, Technology, and Innovation Policy at the University of Cambridge.

Dr. Hauge completed his PhD at the Centre of Development Studies in POLIS, supervised by Ha-Joon Chang. He obtained his Master’s degree in Political Economy of Development from the University of London’s School of Oriental and African Studies, and his Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.

Good old liberals never fail, do they? "No imminent threat." Seems to me I've heard that elsewhere recently. Hauge is yet another useless bag of squishy protoplasm.
