While Gulf countries cautioned US President Donald Trump not to launch a war against Iran in the runup to the conflict, most of them are now urging Washington to continue striking the regime, four senior officials representing different Gulf capitals told The Times of Israel.
There is still some frustration with the way the US and Israel are prosecuting the war, but there is a desire among Gulf countries — particularly the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Qatar — to ensure that Iran comes out of this war with its military power sufficiently degraded to cease posing a threat to them, said the four senior officials, speaking to The Times of Israel last week on condition of anonymity.
While Trump has repeatedly expressed surprise over Iran’s decision to retaliate against its neighbors, including by targeting civilian sites, one of the officials said that Gulf countries largely anticipated the response and that this was one of the reasons they opposed the US-Israeli launch of the war.

Shia Islam, along with the Iranian mullahs, madrassas, the well in Qom and the IRGC need to be put down.
After you jump off the cliff your options are limited.
Urging DC to keep the war going? You mean they aren’t mobilizing? No UAE or Saudi invasion force is forming? No Bahrain or Qatar forces are about to attack?
Typical Gulf mentality. They think all they have to do is hire foreigners for everything...
To them, we might as well be Filipina maids.
The Arabs wouldn’t want to get their white robes dirty.
Fair weather friends?
Must be like the ‘moderate’ voter. They wait until the sure winner is ahead in the polls and then decide who they support.
“Shia Islam, along with the Iranian mullahs, madrassas, the well in Qom and the IRGC need to be put down.”
I agree and drop a MOAB down well.
Trump should announce we’re leaving when Iran falls and will come back if we get attacked again. Let them deal with payback the same way Europe set up WW2 with the Versailles Treaty. What’s left? Keep the strait open-good for business. Keep the mullahs down. The Kurds can help. So can OPEC’s customers. By the we’ll be the next OPEC-singular, not plural.
Skin in the game, and blood drawn changes EVERYTHING.
Just like NATO - wait til it’s clear who will win, then jump on the bandwagon.
That Iran - when decimated - would take on both the whole Mideast and world - proves one thing:
They are crazy and suicidal enough to have used a nuke if they had one.
Which proves another: We and Trump were correct to cripple them.
They won’t be able to continue this for long.
It will hurt a lot while they do.
But this too shall pass.
What follows next? Only God knows......
Are you a Filipina maid….you sound like it!
Or maybe you are a Thai sex worker?
Either way….
The psychomullah regime has bombed 12 other countries.
Everyone knows now they’d use a nuke if they had one just to get that damnable imam mahdi out of his well in Qom to usher in their paradise.
Their psychosis has been on full display.
Russia and the CCP have taken notice as well as other gulf countries.
One way or another, this regime is on it’s way out.
NO ONE is going to help them destroy the world by giving them arms or $$ now.
THEY BLEW IT.
I think it’s an Arab/Sunni vs. Persian/Shia thing.
…That is, I think the Sunni Arabs are happy we’re taking down their rival and enemy: Shiite Iran.
Come on now.
Even Filipino maids have standards.😉
“Gulf states opposed war with Iran. Most are now pushing to keep the fight going” sez Israeli media report..
It’s clear who will win ??
Please enlighten us..
The timing of the Gulf States position is inaccurate.
They are largely Sunni. Therefore they have wanted Shiite deaths in Iran for hundreds of years. This is not recent.
