At the risk of spamming, my mission today is to bring the nature of Shiism in Iran to everyone’s attention, because people who believe the following who have nukes and ICBMs are intolerable to American Constitutional Order.
Trump is right to thwart them:
(Via Grok)
The apocalyptic vision of Iran’s ruling mullahs (clerics and Supreme Leader) is rooted in Twelver Shia eschatology—the dominant branch of Shia Islam in Iran—and centers on actively preparing for and hastening the return of the “Hidden Imam,” or Mahdi (the 12th Imam, Muhammad al-Mahdi). He has been in divine occultation (ghaybah) since the 9th century and is expected to reappear at the end of times amid catastrophic global chaos, widespread violence, wars, injustice, and moral corruption to defeat infidels and oppressors (“stained with infidels’ blood”), eradicate evil, and establish a universal Shia Islamic kingdom of justice.
This is not passive waiting (as in traditional “quietist” Shia theology) but an activist doctrine, radicalized by the 1979 Islamic Revolution. Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini framed Iran as the “Vanguard of the Mahdi,” with the revolution and Islamic Republic as a divine interim government (via his innovation of Velayat-e Faqih, or Guardianship of the Jurist) until the Mahdi’s arrival. The regime’s clerics, IRGC (Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps), and hardliners see their role as hastening these end-times conditions through jihad, export of revolution, and confrontation—making conflict not a side effect of policy but its theological purpose.
Core Drivers of “War Making”
• Chaos and fighting as prerequisites: Shia hadiths and regime interpretations hold that the Mahdi emerges only after global upheaval. Senior clerics explicitly tie this to action: Ayatollah Mohammad Mehdi Mirbagheri stated, “In Order for the Hidden Imam to Reappear We Must Engage in Widespread Fighting with the West.” Khamenei and IRGC leaders echo that Iran’s task is to prepare the ground via battles against the “Great Satan” (US) and “Little Satan” (Israel, called a “cancerous tumor” that “must be uprooted”). Destruction of Israel is often framed as a sine qua non (essential precondition) or catalyst, with hadiths cited claiming it precedes the Mahdi.
• Iran and IRGC as the Mahdi’s vanguard army: Khomeini and successors (including Khamenei) positioned the regime, armed forces, and especially the IRGC/Quds Force as tools to fulfill prophecy. The IRGC indoctrinates with Mahdism (over 50% of training in some periods), arms proxies (Hezbollah, Hamas, Houthis, Shia militias in Iraq/Syria/Yemen) as “Mahdi’s army,” and views operations—like intervening in Syria (against “Sufyani” tyrants per prophecies) or missile strikes—as removing obstacles to his return. Qassem Soleimani and others linked actions to direct contact or preparation for the Imam.
• Hastening via specific acts: Under Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (promoted by hardliners), this intensified—state funds rebuilt the Jamkaran Mosque (a Mahdi pilgrimage site), and he declared his government prepares for the Imam while claiming the US seeks to block it. Nuclear pursuit, ballistic missiles, and regional destabilization are seen as creating “apocalyptic opportunity” or global conflict. Khamenei integrates it into worldview stages: revolution → Islamic society → Mahdi’s era.
This theology explains the regime’s pattern: relentless proxy wars, “Death to America/Israel” doctrine, rejection of lasting compromise (e.g., viewing diplomacy as delay of divine plan), and prioritization of ideology over prosperity or survival. As analysts note, “Preparing the ground for the reappearance of the Hidden Imam is the Islamic Republic’s raison d’etre.” Peace or normalization would undermine the perpetual revolutionary struggle needed for the apocalypse; confrontation fulfills it.
-MSN That's the first crack I've seen in Iran belligerence.
The Iranian foreign minister had been saying for at least a week that the Strait was open to everyone but Israel and the US; Iran's position here is nothing new.
Is this the “War of Hormuz” as taught by Rashi? From Gemini:
https://youtu.be/dehCTRcrVpc?si=cTiOd5eu-jbB_X6x
This video from Rabbi Daniel Glatstein (published March 18, 2026) addresses the current geopolitical tension in the Strait of Hormuz through the lens of Jewish prophecy and classical commentaries.
Rashi does not mention “Hormuz” by name. Instead, the video highlights a rare, 500-year-old commentary that specifically identifies this location as a site for the “End of Days.”
Key Prophetic Connections
The Identification of “Batzra”: The Rabbi cites the Cle Puz (written by Rabbi Shmuel Laniado about 500 years ago). Laniado comments on Isaiah 34:6, which speaks of a “slaughter in Batzra.” While Batzra is traditionally linked to Edom (Rome/the West), Laniado identifies a specific “Batzra” located between Assyria and Persia called Hormos [03:05].
Hormuz as the Global Epicenter: The video notes that 500 years ago, Hormuz was not a globally known strategic point. Today, however, it is the focus of the world’s attention due to the Iranian blockade and its impact on global oil and goods [00:18].
The Role of “Mighty Empires”: Rabbi Glatstein references Rashi’s commentary on the “bulls” or “mighty beasts” mentioned in the prophecy. Rashi identifies these as the world’s mighty empires [04:09]. The Rabbi interprets the prophecy’s description of “descending beasts” as a potential reference to modern aerial assaults or large-scale military projectiles [04:52].
The Significance of the Month (Nissan)
Redemption Cycle: The Rabbi emphasizes that the Jewish world is currently in the month of Nissan (March/April 2026), which is traditionally a “time of redemption” [00:42].
50/50 Anticipation: He cites the Chasam Sofer, who taught that during Nissan, one should view the arrival of the Messiah as a “50/50” immediate possibility [07:19].
Summary of the Analysis
The video concludes that the current military events in the Strait of Hormuz—specifically the involvement of Persia (Iran) and the “mighty empires” of the world—align with Laniado’s 500-year-old identification of “Hormos” as a biblical “Batzra.” The Rabbi suggests that these events may be the fulfillment of the “Day of Vengeance” described by the prophets to bring justice for Israel [05:09].
When you look at the Strait of Hormuz from space, it does sort of look like a hook, doesn’t it? There have been 24 nations of the world hooked in so far (Ezekiel: 38,39?)

From which he will lead his armies to slaughter all living human beings, with the last two obliged to kill each other, that way every one will be in Paradise.
Tankers can, like aircraft carriers, the Capitol in DC, and the White House in DC, be defended.
Defending the Capitol is a must do, ask a Congressman or senator.
The Germans had well-armed railroad cars, I think they were called Flakwagen.
The US can buy old tankers and arm them well. The US can sail them through the Strait of Hormuz. They can sail empty on the way in and be filled with seawater on the way out.
If some Iranians try to take them out, they will be keeping virgins busy.
If a commercial tanker wishes to sail along with the US tankers, it can.
Thank you for that summary of the absolute lunacy infecting and driving Iran’s quest for the apocalypse.
We must eradicate this disease or it’s the end of civilization as we know it. It truly is a religious war and these people are determined and emerging straight from hell. I hope this ends well for us but am not at all sure.
Above all, they must NOT be permitted to acquire nuclear bombs and long range ballistic missiles. Never!
If the entire country needs to be destroyed then so be it.
Bad idea. So far the ordinary people are with us. Shutting off the power works against that.
Is it just me or is it not illogical for POTUS to have been upset at Israel for having attacked Iranian infrastructure (an oil refinery I believe); yet threaten to take down their grid?
The idea is not to alienate the general population but to focus on Iranian leadership.
I believe it’s still cold over there and people live in apartments.
If you take down the grid, you subject those people to cold.
How does that not alienate them?
It's not clear that DJT can discern the significance between attacking political opponents while entertaining his supporters and speaking on the world stage (see: his remarks to the prime minister of Japan).
DJT threatened to attack Iranian power grids last night and within 90 minutes the Iranians responded that if such an attack were to take place, they would consider desalination plants in the ME to be legitimate targets.
Trump should be speaking with someone (Vance?) before making these statements; otherwise, appearing inconsistent might be the least of his problems.
and yet only ~3-5 tankers have transited the Strait in the last 3 days, while a backlog of ~400 ships languish ...
sounds like something out of the book of revelations that most are praying for the end of times here
That is where the NT Writers got it from. Ezekiel, Joel, Isaiah, etc. It is re-interpreted in Revelations, but has never changed from the original Tanach, or Hebrew Bible.
I suspect that this is tied to the insurance. Iran may declare the Strait to be open to everyone but Israel and the US, but until Lloyd's of London agrees to reinstate the coverage of the ships, nobody is going to sail through.
insurance IS available, but at sky high rates due to the increased risks to the insurers; apparently owners aren’t willing to pay those rates and/or they don’t want to risk their tankers being blown up and polluting the shit out of the shores of the persian gulf ... the terrorist Iranian regime needs to be bombed into non-existence ...
Either that, or the insurers take the regime's word that only those ships that are Israeli or American will be targeted, and adjust rates accordingly.
“or the insurers take the regime’s word that only those ships that are Israeli or American will be targeted, and adjust rates accordingly.”
you and i and everyone on the planet that has two functioning neurons that spark when rubbed together know that “the regime’s word” is worth less than the Zimbabwe trillion dollar note ...
Yet, the Iranians are still letting ships pass through. (Someone is taking their word.) www.youtube.com
