The new White House task force will withhold government funding for state and local benefits programs if their anti-fraud controls are viewed as lacking. IT MODERNIZATION The White House is kicking off President Donald Trump’s “war on fraud” with a focus on federally-funded benefits like housing, food and cash assistance programs.
Among the tactics that a new anti-fraud task force will be pursuing is withholding government funding to state and local jurisdictions whose anti-fraud controls for benefits are deemed inadequate and increasing data-sharing between states and the federal government, according to the Monday executive order establishing the task force.
Both moves, already deployed by the White House in the name of fighting fraud, have at times been blocked by courts.
Anti-fraud experts have long wanted the federal government to take a more coordinated approach against fraud in government programs. But some worry that the Trump administration is using fraud as a pretext for political goals, including immigration enforcement.

Medicare is shot through with fraud. All you need to do is to get control of a medical provider, and buy a list of stolen Medicare numbers on the dark web. You can bill up a storm, and if you are smart you will disappear after a couple of months with your loot. The ones who get caught hang around too long, and get too greedy. You can always start again in another state under another name.
Stop it. It’s Like squeezing Jello. The more you squeeze, the more it travels elsewhere. Just end it all. Stop funding it. Cut off the spoiled leftist brats allowance. Let them scream. You’ll find every last one if you listen.
Why are we taxpayers on the hook for free day care for anyone - even if they were real? Those women running around in black tents don’t work so we’re supposed to provide free babysitting?
And if an actual legal worker can’t afford daycare then we taxpayers are subsidizing the employer plus the bureaucrats it costs to administer the program.
None of it makes sense.

One of the ways the babysitting fraud is (hopefully no longer) perpetrated in Minnesota is that woman A babysits woman B’s children, collecting subsidies for her “business”. Woman B babysits woman A’s children, collecting subsidies for her “business”. They both collect subsidies for free childcare.

B - “pretext” is used here as a sniveling pejorative crying because a legitimate methodology for exposing fraud is now firmly in-hand.
C - “immigration enforcement” is, and has always been, an existential matter of national security and sovereignty, both of which are only “political” in the minds of anti-American (insert satanic “ist” here) pond scum unworthy of continuing to consume oxygen.
EVERYONE crying about fraud being exposed, much less DEALT with, needs to be incarcerated for life, or deported under a DO NOT RETURN Order in lieu of execution.

As usual it depends on the source of the funding. And if the funding can legally be withheld there are still limits on how it can be withheld. Funds can’t be withheld for education because there is evidence of fraud in Medicaid nursing home billing.
