US President Donald Trump says he will not allow another Israeli attack on Iran’s South Pars natural gas field, after the IDF struck the key energy site on Wednesday.

Trump writes on Truth Social that Israel “violently lashed out” at South Pars “out of anger for what has taken place in the Middle East,” while insisting that only “a relatively small section” of the oil field has been hit.

The US president claims that the US “knew nothing about this particular attack.” ...

The attack on the Pars Gas Field is a major escalation in the Iran War. It is hard to believe that the US did not know of it in advance.

I would guess the Israelis were retaliating for the cluster warhead Iranian attacks on civilian areas. However, I question whether it is the most appropriate response, and, perhaps the Israelis should have given the “archer killing” another week or two.

It is said revenge is a dish best served cold. Patience, or enduring difficulty / losses, can be a part of that.

I’d also note that apparently the facility hit is mainly for domestic consumption.

IIRC initial reports from Israel said they'd attacked the field with permission from US. I suppose they're could have been some fog of war there.

But if the Qatari's and/or Saudi's are really pissed at at IRGC targeting their peoples and their installations perhaps they might consider attacking the many IRGC members and family members who have fled to Oman. That WOULD get the attention of the hard core holdouts still within Iran. It would not be a move Trump or Israel could make, but if some Arab countries made it on their own I'm not sure there'd be significant push back. Heck, the original Mo would endorse the tactic. And I doubt Oman could put up much of a defense against its larger, richer neighbors.

Whenever Israel demands more money, weapons, support, we give it to them.

Sometimes we pretend to resist (as when Biden delayed delivery for a few days), but in the end, Israel always gets what it demands.

Israel has been demanding a war on Iran for 30 years. Since 1995, Netanyahu has been saying that Iran is only weeks or months away from have nuclear weapons.

Trump finally gave Israel the war it wanted.

The United States knew nothing about this particular attack, and the country of Qatar was in no way, shape, or form, involved with it, nor did it have any idea that it was going to happen.
