Wild video has surfaced of thousands of terrified spring break beachgoers fleeing the sand in Florida as gunshots rang out over the weekend.
At least four shootings have been reported in Daytona Beach since Friday as scores of spring breakers descended on the city, WFTV9 reported.
Four shootings and massive unruly crowds turned Daytona Beach’s spring-break weekend into a public safety nightmare, as thousands fled the sand while police from multiple agencies rushed in to restore order.
In one of the chaotic incidents, footage shot from a hotel balcony captured the moment screaming bikini-clad sunbathers scattered the beach after a shot was fired on Saturday.
It wasn’t immediately clear what sparked the shooting, or if anyone was injured.
Meanwhile, cops said one shot was fired after a fight erupted at the Joint Bar, just off the beach strip, on Friday. No one was injured in that shooting, according to authorities.
An hour later, a person was shot outside a nearby Crunch Fitness. Two shootings were then reported beachside on Saturday, cops said. *** It comes as beachgoers described chaotic scenes in the city over the weekend as spring break revelers descended.
“Twerking, dancing, stopping traffic, cussing people, flipping people off, stopping everyone, screaming. It was insane. Stopping traffic, you couldn’t move, you couldn’t go forward, back, nothing,” Kissy Derito, who was in town with her family, said.

2) “Sunbathers” and “Spring Breakers” are the newest euphemisms for blacks. From the “Department of How to Say Black Without Saying Black”
Scott Adams wouldn’t have been there and I agree with him.
Let the festivities begin!
I spent spring break in Ft Lauderdale and Daytona in the late 70’s. Wet t shirt contests, beer, sunburns were it. I don’t remember a single fist fight, much less gun fire.
I like people but I hate crowds.
Boy, those people real have been working on their tans.
“It wasn’t immediately clear what sparked the shooting...”
That’s right up there with the lame stream media being unable to figure out a motive when a terrorist screams Allah Akbar.
There was a time many years ago when Spring Break was wild and out of control. Florida cracked down on it and it became a lot more tame. I guess Florida loosened up on it and its back to being wild and out of control, even more so than before.
What do you suppose has changed since then? I’ll bet you can guess
Back then the spring breakers were actually students. Today its just an excuse for a mass gathering of ferals.
“I don’t remember a single fist fight, much less gun fire.”
Because of melanin deficiency?
Not much use for sunscreen.
Certain groups in American society just can’t have nice things, go nice places, or give something back to that society. Feral animals that have no manners.
There's nowhere to take cover on a beach other than in the water.
Never in the history of our great country (and probably the history of the world) has such a small group done so little for so few for so long while declining so many opportunities then proceed to inflict such untold misery, cruelty, disrespect and degradation on so many all the while cloaked with the permeating stench of entitlement.
And I ate a sandwich today.
“I, I, I, me, me, me, my, my, my”...Dude...no one cares!
Is that a real pic, from this incident??
Something about the guy knocked over, and, his walker still standing speaks FAKE ... lol.
I went to Ft Lauderdale in the mid 1980s. The ratio was about 10 horned up fratboys for every skank. At my little motel, I met a couple of “college girls” who actually were actually prostitutes. Not my cup of tea.
