Multiple airports across the U.S. are collecting donations for Transportation Security Administration employees and federal staffers working without pay during the ongoing partial government shutdown, which started nearly one month ago in February.
The partial shutdown began Feb. 14, and TSA workers are set to miss their first paycheck of the shutdown this weekend, as some continue to seek support from places like food pantries or find side jobs to try to make ends meet.
Congressional lawmakers remain at an impasse, trading blame as Republicans pushed back this week on a Democratic proposal to fund federal agencies within the Department of Homeland Security, with the exceptions of Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Customs and Border Protection. Democrats, meanwhile, have previously blocked Republican efforts to reopen DHS, arguing that the GOP proposals do not do enough to curtail immigration enforcement tactics and protect Americans.

Yet another government shutdown sob story about how it impacts the poor government employees. We got none of these when Obama and Biden were intentionally trying to destroy the coal industry, and that was permanent. Not just a temporary shutdown. I guess it gets easier for ABC though - they just need to pull out the illegal immigrant sob story and change the word “migrant” to “government employee.”

Why just treat the symptoms when you can cure the problem? The TSA is closed because of one reason. DEMOCRATS. The same cause of every malady.

Just suspend the TSA altogether. Imagine simply checking in and walking to your gate again.

Yep, I am old enough to remember that. Those were the days, my friend, we thought they’d never end……
The Trump administration (through the Department of Homeland Security under Secretary Kristi Noem) awarded $10,000 bonuses to select TSA officers who demonstrated “exemplary service” or went “above and beyond” during a 43-day government shutdown last year. These bonuses were in addition to back pay once funding resumed.
No sympathy here.
AND... there’s a fifty/fifty chance that fifty percent of those TSA employees are democrats , which is even sweeter.

and after you are checked through, turn to the TSA employee and say, “well, I reckon you never vote democratic again”

That’s nice. Now lets talk about the problem of the security system not getting paid and soliciting cash. That is literally the story of Mexican police corruption in a nutshell.

Nooooo don’t be off-putting and alienate them. Be passive aggressive, tell them “Hey, hang in there! I sure hope the democrats stop preventing you guys from getting paid”.
Say it with warmth. The dumb ones may start thinking our way, and the smart ones will get your needle but have to hold it in! lol
The much hated “media” have already convinced the people who hate them is that it is Trump and Maga who have shut down the government. We can’t win. Americans are so gullible they believe everything they see and hear. Especially from their “media”.
