President Donald Trump announced Tuesday that the U.S. will get its first oil refinery in 50 years, funded by investments from Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries.
“THIS IS A HISTORIC $300 BILLION DOLLAR DEAL — THE BIGGEST IN U.S. HISTORY,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social.
He thanked India’s largest privately held energy company, Reliance Industries, “for this tremendous Investment.”
Reliance owns the world’s largest oil refinery in Jamnagar, India, and has a market capitalization of $206 billion, according to LSEG data.
The new refinery, located at the port of Brownsville in Texas, will “strengthen our National Security, boost American Energy production, deliver Billions of Dollars in Economic impact, and will be THE CLEANEST REFINERY IN THE WORLD,” Trump said.
The refinery is designed to process 100% American shale oil and is being developed by America First Refining. 20-year deal
The refinery’s opening coincides with elevated global oil prices driven by the intensifying conflict in the Middle East. Since the start of the U.S.-Israel war on Iran, the prices of crude have been volatile, hitting nearly $120 on Monday. Higher fuel prices are beneficial for shale refiners.

Good news though I hope that means they hire Americans and not importing more Hindus from India.
Poorly written article. The Indian Company is a major investor…….but not the only investor. Probably a large investor and will provide technical help. Obviously Trump wants to crow about the investment…….he made it happen

school, we had mandatory English classes
everyday and I’m a white kid. English is my
main language. If they don’t talk too fast I can deal with conversational Spanish, and I also learned Mandarin in middle school(which I have mostly forgotten),
I purposely failed the USAF foreign language test as
I did not want to be an Interpreter in the USAF.
My point is this, I’d rather live in a Texas Barrio,
then a Democrat run city on the East coast. It is safer,

How does the oil get from the Permian Basin to the port of Brownsville there’s no pipeline currently running there.
[While the proposed 650-mile Jupiter Pipeline was designed to provide this connection, it was placed on hold indefinitely in 2020. ]

Sounds like bait and switch to me they’re going to have to tanker the oil from Corpus or Houston or they could just talk tankers from Venezuela and run de-sulfur catalyst units to turn it into sweet crude
