A bus fire in Switzerland killed at least six people and left three others hospitalized with severe injuries, police said Tuesday. They said they were investigating whether the blaze was intentionally set by someone on the bus.
Police spokesperson Frederic Papaux of Fribourg canton, or region, said the inferno broke out Tuesday evening on a bus in the town of Kerzers, about 15 miles west of Bern, the Swiss capital.
"At this stage, we have elements suggesting a deliberate act by a person who was inside the bus," Papaux said at a news conference, according to Reuters news agency.
Police would not elaborate on why they believe the fire could have been deliberately started. Fribourg police said in a statement that a criminal investigation had been opened by public prosecutors "to determine the exact circumstances of the tragedy."
Authorities said they could not immediately confirm reports that a person had doused themselves in gasoline, CBS News partner BBC News reported.
Papaux did not say how many people were on the bus, noting that people were fleeing the vehicle when first responders arrived...

My guess it was a bomb of some type.
All the burned out buses in Israel told me this is one of their fav targets.

Back in the day when I lived there, they even had the Geranium Police. If your apartment building was supposed to have red geraniums in the window boxes they better be red!

For the most part, Switzerland feels more homogenous and safer than the US in most places. I’ve been there many times.
I think a lot of people in the US don’t realize how far gone we are with foreigners. They think it’s worse in Europe, but it really isn’t in many places.
In my travels in the US, I go to some areas where it seems like 75% or more are foreign born. I never find that in the places I go in Europe.
I think the denial is important for most in the US, because if they realize the extent of this foreign invasion here they might freak out.
I would call that an explosion not a fire.
I read earlier reports that said the fire may have been a “voluntary act”. WTF? Ads on craigs list or something for volunteers?
A decade ago I took a 10 day trip to Portugal. On the whole trip I saw about 100 women in islamic headscarves - about 10 in Portugal and about 90 in the customs line arriving at IAD Dulles.
