NEW YORK (AP) — Uber launched a feature Monday to allow both women riders and drivers across the U.S. to be matched with other women for trips, expanding a pilot program aimed at addressing concerns about the safety of its riding-hailing platform.
The new feature is being rolled out nationwide despite an ongoing class action lawsuit against the policy in California, filed by Uber drivers who argue that it is discriminatory against men. Rival ride-hailing company Lyft is also facing a discrimination lawsuit over a similar offering that it introduced nationwide in 2024.

Japan has gone so far as to have women only commuter trains so this is no a great leap in western society but stand by. There will be the incoming civil suits from the radical trannies and their furry friends as well as the bun haired vegan soy boys....

This is an attempt by Uber to offset the lawsuits they're facing for not vetting drivers and for ignoring complaints from passengers while continuing to dispatch offenders.
"Uber Technologies Inc., Passenger Sexual Assault Litigation (MDL No. 3084) in the Northern District of California. As of February 2026, more than 3,700 plaintiffs in 30 states have joined the MDL..."

Notice there’s no “only male driver” option. That would be discriminatory.
To: BFW
Nah, there should be lawsuits from any guy who is driving. It is clear discrimination based on sex, and letting women get away with that only when it benefits them is B.S.. The only glitch is that the federal civil rights laws only apply to employee/employer relationships, not to independent contractors. And in most states, drivers are independent contractors so civil rights laws wouldn't apply.
But the joke is on California because they changed their law to have all drivers be considered employees, so that law will now bite them in the butt.
Good times!

In Dearborn, it is Men-Only.
or was that Jew-only.
Or black-only.
We have come so far with civil rights, now we do not cherish anybody so fear sets in all over again. Post-Christian, aint it grand.

Can one go so far as demanding English speaking driver ?!?!

Dreamer.

Don’t try to tell me America is not a land of opportunity.
Take the case of a man living in Baghdad yesterday. Doesn’t speak a word of English. Arrived in the US.
Today, this man is your cab driver in Manhattan.

The only restriction is that they will not drive you to a women only sporting event.

In theory, not a bad idea.
But what if it’s a homo?
Never mind the fools who think they’re female.

I actually think its a good idea. I can easily see why women would feel a lot more safe knowing their drivers or riders were only other women.
