President Donald Trump said Sunday that he will not sign any bills until the SAVE America Act is passed, adding that a “watered down” version of the act would not do.

The idea that Trump should endorse a low life like John Cornyn in exchange for the SAVE act is so offensive, so preposterous, and so idiotic that it cannot be taken seriously.
Should Trump endorse Paxton, Trump's gonna get the SAVE act anyways. Paxton supports the SAVE act. It's not a trade! Endorsing Senator Cornyn "in exchange" for the SAVE act is not a trade its surrender.
I wish Trump would fight this hard to jump start Congress into abolishing the Department of Education. Abolishing the DoEd is way more important than the SAVE act.
Democrats abort their offspring. So those are republican children who are being indoctrinated.
Thune and his band of UNIPARTY RINOs might pass something CALLED the SAVE Act that’s actually empty of all positive content and zero enforcement ability. And then say “Endorse Cornyn, sucker”.
The original SAVE Act (H.R. 22) was introduced in early 2025 by Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) and passed the House that year but stalled in the Senate.
In early 2026, it was reintroduced and amended (sometimes called SAVE America Act or "SAVE Act 2.0"), passing the U.S. House again on February 11, 2026 (narrowly, e.g., 218-213 along mostly party lines).
It is currently in the Senate, where Republicans hold a majority but face challenges due to the filibuster (requiring 60 votes to advance most legislation). Senate Majority Leader statements indicate it's on the agenda soon, but Democrats strongly oppose it, and there's no confirmed vote date yet.
Betting markets and analyses give it low odds of becoming law in 2026 (around 10-16% in some trackers), largely because of the filibuster hurdle unless rules change (which GOP leaders have been reluctant to pursue aggressively).
Maybe we constituents need to be more assertive (in a polite way) with our Senators.
I can only think of one reason to oppose the SAVE act, and that is to continue to promote voter fraud. Even Dem voters should support the SAVE act, as it preserves THEIR rights and representation too.
That’s why this newest Trump statement is such a winning move. If Trump doesn’t get the SAVE act he specified he doesn’t sign anything.
The rumors of Cormyn endorsement for SAVE act trade were IMO a trial balloon, or a feint. Certainly Paxton made good use of the moment by saying if what was needed was for him to step down he would if the SAVE act was passed. Now that window has closed. Paxton is in a stronger position and Thune is between a rock & a hard place.
Off topic, but what’s the latest on the Paxton-Cornyn thing? Last I heard, Trump was going to chose one and the other one better drop out.
So PDJT won’t sign a DHS/ICE/Border Patrol funding bill before the “SAVE Act”?!? (H.R. 7744). TSA lines are getting long.

I saw Paxton on Newsmax earlier saying he wasn’t going anywhere, slamming Cornyn hard for his speaking out against the border wall, advocating for amnesty for years, and not listening to the people of Texas...
That’s the DJT we’ve all come to know and admire. He’s giving it to the limp-wristed members of Congress who won’t get a backbone and demand voter ID.
There’s no way the President endorses Cornyn, a RINO who’s stabbed him in the back so many times.
Better call your Senator.
I would but I am behind enemy lines with Shifty Schiff and Padilla (CA)...”deaf ears” comes to mind.
That will last about a week.
Getting the save act is the most important law in the last 80 years. It would be a miracle. It would be the end of the democrats.
What other bills are there?
Today maybe none.
Tomorrow? There is always some pet project next week, next month.
